Yeah but bike riding takes a lot longer to burn calories and fat, try jogging or running maybe? And you diet sounds good remember though don't Aiken yourself of the foods you are eating eat a variety then you will stick at it longer

Cutting out junk food and soda and being outside more is definately a good start. You may lose some weight just from switching from soda to water alone. If I were you I would bike a longer distance since with biking it takes much less effort to move around than if you were jogging. Also consider visiting your school's weight room if it has one.

Jogging/Running over cycling. You pretty much have to cycle double what you jog (very roughly).
Also exercises to work muscles such as sit ups, push ups, bicycling (the exercise, not riding a bike) and planks are great to work the muscles and burn weight.
The only thing I say for a beginner, do a decent workout, but just don't do much.
Ie, 40 pushups instead of 80+, 50 sit ups instead of 80+ etc.
By working your muscles as well as cardio, you will burn weight faster.

Cycling's good too, I picked it up quite seriously after my string of injuries. I invested in the cheapest road bike I could find, really worth it. It's a good start I think, your first hurdle is discipline. Once you've got your priorities straight then start to build up.

I started biking quite casually and I've worked it to 18km in hill climbs, I've done 70km and longer trips before (about two hours round). You can argue that it's slower than running and such, cycling is generally a lower intensity cardio exercise (unless you really push it up on hills), target a 65% zone for fat burn and 80-85% for cardio training and try vary between both.

You're 15, if you find you've gone through enough puberty, definitely start looking at implementing weight training into your program.
Don't just cut down on junk food, you need to start putting real man food in your body too.
