View Full Version : Macintosh in Movies?

This may belong in the Movie section, not sure.
I've noticed lately that the computer's in movies are almost always Macintosh, and the Smartphones are almost always iPhones. When they're not, it's normally a fake brand created by the set to mimic Apple.
Is there any reason for this, or coincidence?
Surely they'd save budget money using Non-Apple products.

Silent Hill, Insidious, if I recall Pay It Forward also. It's in more, I just can't think of them currently. Both Drake and Josh and iCarly sets have 'Pear' which is a spoof of Apple.

lolno
Almost every movie I've seen with anykind of electronics is most likely going to be Sony.
Just watch. The computer will probably say Vaio on it.

1/3 of the top 50 movies from last year features mac products (not sure that is the exact figure but it was something like that). They pay to put it in.

I wasn't trying to notice it, but it seems they always get the perfect angle of the Apple Symbol.

That doesn't surprise me. I notice a lot of commercials also use the Apple Operating Systems. >_<

I've noticed lately too that Apple products appear in movies and TV shows.
I don't think there's a real reason for it, perhaps on the set they just take a Mac from the editing room and slap a sticker on it.

Apple probably pays for their product to be advertised in the movie. It's subliminal advertising. Simple.

I notice this too. Probably because Macs are the best :p. But also I think Apple pays for the logo to be in movies.
As for when people mimic the brand without advertising it, it's probably because it's the easiest to mimic. Just slap a pear logo instead of an Apple and it's good to go. Other brands have complex logos positioned in different places on the device so it would be harder to disguise.

Flash can be installed on Macs lol. Its not on iOS, and for good reason.

(Almost clicked the "Edit" button again )
HTML5 is newer than some websites. And those websites that still use Flash haven't had the time/resources to fix it yet.
So you can't expect everything to just automatically change, you know.

The Apple company pays movies to put their products in the movie as advertising. It's product placement. They are in a lot of movies because they can afford to "out bid" other companies.

Suppose MAC pays for their products to be featured.
