I just felt like talking about Diablo. :P
Well, hopefully, Diablo III is getting closer? >.>
Not that I think it's going to be great. But I'm sure as hell going to buy it and see for myself. I don't know about that Auction House but we'll see when it is released.
Hmm. So, a couple things I'm curious of about Diablo fans, do you prefer SP or MP? Diablo I or Diablo II? And which classes do you like and which are you going to make first in Diablo III?
I never got into multiplayer much. But I'm torn on which game I like better. I play the second more than I play the first, but the first has the most amazing atmosphere and music that sent chills up my spine. I first played it when I was such a little kid, it freaked the hell out of me. I never got too far at that age, but The Butcher would freak me out. I went in there once, never did again. I would just play through right to the Butcher, and skip him. :P But even now, it never fails to give me the chills. Diablo II never did that. I do miss the environment from Diablo I, but I like the direction Diablo II went in.
And knowing me and my affinity for spellcasters, I'm guessing I'm going to go for the Wizard first. I may actually roll a Demon Hunter but about 70% chance it's going to be the Wizard, despite the Sorceress being my main charrie in Diablo II anyway. Then the Demon Hunter, then the Witch Doctor. And that would be it until the expansions.

To me it seems like it's either the wizard or the demon hunter.
It too does depend if I'm playing on SP or MP.
When on SP I may try the monk instead.
Needs some research on that.
But the release date is still TBA.
Guess they are still working on SC's next expansion. Or WoW content for now.

Which is a shame anyway. I'd like them to leave WoW alone now and just finish the game. Regardless of the fact that I think Diablo is better, WoW already got it's third expansion, it's about time for Diablo to get another update. :)
But I'm hearing late 2011/early 2012, though there's no release date yet. And the Beta should be close then. I've made sure my battle.net account is set up so when they do the beta I have a chance. :P

Agreed, wow has been on it's 3rd and SC was just boosted last year.
It's about time for diablo.
But WoW is their cash cow, doubt they would neglect it either . :(

I think the Diablo team and Starcraft teams are different from the Wow team. It has been a while though.
Starcraft II was announced in 2007, and was released 2010(the first part of the three, mind you) -- so, you have to wait a little.

Yeah, but they're going to make extra income now because of the real-money auction house  So once they get that sorted, they have an additional source of revenue. Even though it isn't nearly as much as the money from WoW subscriptions they get.
Think about it though. Being able to make money by playing Diablo yourself... hmm. This interests me. I would never buy anything but... if I find a good item I have no use for... :D

And Diablo III was announced at Blizzcon 2008 and now it's... oh. Three years later. Hmm. :/

Definitely, this incentive raises the play value by a huge notch, especially to players with a good mind for in game trading and such, it can be a good source of income.
Of course thus may result in game unbalance, where it seems the rich or those whom are willing to spend will be a notch above those who arent.
Not to mention, currency exchange, taxes and legality issues.
It's viable but takes lots of considerations.

From reviews and game play it looks like diablo 3 is going to be more advanced as a game but will not feel like diablo 1&2

I got to admit i liked diablo 2 more than WOW till the expansion.Diablo needs to be updated even now its geting boring. And also the DEV teams shift around when cataclysm was being made thay shifted people from starcraft 2 and diablo
thats why diablo 3 was delayed lets face it WOW beats diablo now :(.My other point to make it seems lately that good game have sequels and are complete rubish im praying that diablo stays the same just better grafs more stuff to kill and loot. And the market thing in wow will ruin the game. The last thing il add is Starcraft heart of swarm i think its called will most likely be out before or after christmas due to teh fact thay have the engine and that down my theory is thay will realease Diable 3 at the end of the year

True, it's possible. Though I'm not much of a multiplayer person so I'm not sure if it'll affect me as much. Again, though, I'll have to wait and see. I hope they're revamping multiplayer because I would like to do some of that, but I never really was interested unless it was with friends with the setup it had.
But I think it won't be too imbalanced. A bit more than WoW, but not too much. Just in that now it is a secure way to get things with real money instead of buying from sites if you're into that. People still do that in WoW, though this will probably give incentive to people to do more of that, as here it's easier and trusted. But even in other MMOs, chances are that there is at least someone wealthier than you because of seemingly uncontrollable advantages. It's never going to be very equal.

I know what you mean. Some of the gameplay I've been looking at feels... more like Torchlight than Diablo. And Torchlight was great to waste time on but it's a horrible Diablo copy and just felt so... ehh... bubbly if you know what I mean. The graphics weren't bad but they didn't match the mood. I'll have to see it for myself though.

Yup, i'd agree that there is no game that very equal these days, any form of mmo , there will be options for players ; be it by other player or syndicates or in game, to purchase equipment to gain the advantage against other players.
Well i guess money does talk even in the gaming world. :(
