hello people :D

so, just wanted to do a post about the idea that most people have about gay men.

i dont know if its true or not but, i feel like every person you ask that isnt gay or bi or that is homophobic or i dont know, even a person that isnt neither of those, but you say the word "gay" and they almost always think about a guy who talks and does stuff like a girl, a femenin guy.
i know that gay or bi men arent like that, i mean we'r all just different, we arent all femenin. some are but some are the kind of guy that you would never think that he is gay.

i just wanna know you opinion on this if you agree or not, and also if this is right, i just wanna know WHY people think that. :(

I really don't care unless they talk like a girl

You would dislike someone for their mannerisms? Really.

I'm gay. I don't appear feminine but I am more emotional than most guys.

I don't speak with a lisp.
I don't like pink. (I like neutral colors)
My Music taste is feminine I'd say. Not all but most.
I do talk with my hands when I get excited *shame*
I don't like sports.
I'm intelligent (in my opinion.)

Maybe I do sound a little gay according to the stereotype... BUT

None of these things have to do with me liking guys.

Gay people comes as different as Straight people do.

well people think that because it seems to often be true

now is it true because that's what we think or is it true because thats how we are?
who knows...
all I know is I wasn't feminine at all before I came out, and now I have more feminine mannerisms...
hope somewhere in here I answered your question, sorry for the weird response :/

everybody wants to hate everybody that is different then them and i just thinkl that is stupid. some boys act like girsl and some girls act like boys but everybody is not the same and should be judged the same. i hate labels.

because that's how society portrays gays. since that's how tv and society show them, how else do you expect people to view them until they see different.

The typical thing I'd point out is the relationship of hormone levels to sexuality. It isn't always the case that a gay man is more feminine and a gay woman is more masculine, but hormones probably have a bit of an effect on a person's sexuality, and lack of one and over-production of the other can influence it. It is a stereotype, not all true, but there is reason for that stereotype to have come into existence.

As well, I'd like to also say that typically a gay person is more okay with being who they are, when I've seen many a straight guy who likes to push the fact that he are oh so masculine. It's a confidence thing. I'll bet that there are some straight guys who truly are straight, but would be more feminine if they just let them be that instead of taking up a persona because "that is what men do." As always, not all men are that way, but it's a trend I've noticed.

I LOVE fashion
I have mannerisms that wouldn't be considered masculine
My clothing color choices range from black to bright lime green
I despise sports (excluding tennis)
Most of my friends are girls

And I'm a straight male. Just because someone has the stereotypical traits of what people consider to be "gay" does NOT mean they are or aren't.
