Hi, i live in Scotland and i want to Live in L.A or at least NY or any other city in California but to do that i don't know exactly all i know is i wuld need to get a job in which ever city it is but i would also need to get one here first to give me money to move and buy a house there right?
I don't know if this is true so please tell me: If i get a job here in Scotland and i do good then i get enough money then i buy a house and move?
Or: i look for a job in whatever city then they accept me and i just move? How?
Please, i get the talk about jobs and life in about 3 months
And if anyone thinks that i should just stay here the here are my reasons not to:
Summer? Rainy 85% of the time.
Ugh neds
My life-long dream since i was 5 was to move to the USA

Well, if you wan't to move to the US, you need to find a job where ever you can. Create a list of desirable cities you want to live in. Start where you want to be living, and if there are no jobs for you, try the next on your list, and so on.
Get a decent job in Scotland to save up money for the move. It would be very expensive to move across the world. Save up as much money as you can.
You may have to rent a house for a year or two and save up for a deposit for a loan, and to give yourself a decent job. You may have to work a dead-end job until you find a decent one.
Good Luck!

you mentioned moving to california. california has a terrible job market right now is on the top ten list of highest unemployments. so with moving to ca, you'd need to be careful with the job stuff. buying a house and all that, you'll need a really good job, even with housing market low. you'd probably be better off trying to go to a state with a lower cost of living, because certain areas are very expensive, all the area's you mentioned are high costs of living. try something like Iowa, Indiana, Oregon. those are a lower cost of living generally. hope this helps.

Oh i did not know that i wanted to live in NY but from all the movies it seems like a sort of low priced place.
What would you say the best state and city for a very big American fan?

You need a very good education and even at that it is incredibly hard to be accepted into the united states, my family looked into it, with my mum a nurse and my dad a lawyer there is no chance of us getting in. Google "the green card system"

Why don't you get a student visa and apply to an American university? It'll make it easier to find a well paying job here, which would make immigration easier.

And there's the possibility of finding an American spouse to sponsor you into the country

I think you should finish up your education then consider your options. I think you need to research a little more about the US first: you'd get bored of the accents soon enough (especially when no one can understand what you're saying), the US laws are much stricter than those in the UK/Scotland and the law enforcement and jail sentences also being much more extreme. I can understand the cities, but yeah. If you hate Scottish weather, the south of the UK or the east cost of Scotland presents some nicer options. It's a big thing to be thinking about when you don't have any money - you shouldn't consider the move just because you don't speak another language. France, Germany, Italy or the Netherlands also present nice opportunities if you like to move: if you like cities and nice weather, you could even think about Dubai :P
Either way, you'll need to build up a little money first and seriously consider your options for work overseas. It's probably best if you specialise in something so you're a little in demand if you want to work somewhere. Get a nice degree, you know... right now your priority should be studying.
