I think that we should get a notification when we post a forum and someone answers so that we know what they said, so we can take there advice

you can suncribe to a thread by clicking the thread tools button at the top of the thread, when you sursribe to a thread u can set it to email notification so you will be emailed when someones posts on that thread
to view subscired threads click on the user cp at it will be at the top of the first page you get taken to

Seems like what youtube does... but it is much easier to track on a forum than youtube in my opinion.

I believe what OP wanted was the similar form of notification like friend req and visitor msgs, but like what Thomas mentioned, it's in the subscriptions which goes to your email.
And all subs and new thread post pops when you click on your user cp.
It's always been this way, maybe ya could have missed it out?
