I work at Subway.

My boss has started me on store opens, which is 6am to 2pm, on Saturdays and Sundays. I started this about six or seven weeks ago. In that time, I have had one weekend off. About six weekends so far, in a row have been two days on from 6am to 2pm. Then I go to school for all day Monday to Friday.

Is this fair for my boss to be putting me on so many opens, EVERY weekend.

I am seriously neglecting my friends, because I am never available to do anything with them..

Or am I just being a wuss?

If it bothers you so much, just talk with your boss. You work eight hours both of those days. That's reasonable.

that's normal. it's called "responsibility". not trying to sound like a jerk, it's just honesty. as we grow up this is what happens. at least you are off at 2. my foster bro works weekends also, well friday saturday, for religious reasons he doesn't have to work sundays, and his friendships have been greatly affected, but that's life. he said the other day, it wouldn't be so bad, but his shifts are mid day. he works from 1-7 normally. so basically, he doesn't have anytime at all. getting off at 2 leaves you evenings to have friend time also. so if you make things work, lifes good. and if you want to plan a special trip, you can always do it in advance, and request that weekend off. your hours are typical for a teenager holding a job by the way.

What about all the hours after 2PM? And thats honestly not that bad. You're getting 8 hours pay and you're done by 2. I'd be fine with that if my schedule was like that.
