I was wondering how many people here eat organic/natural foods,
I also strongly suggest trying to buy healthier foods, ive been on a totally organic natural diet for a few months now and have noticed great changes i feel alot more happy and have more energy,
and there is a myth that healthy food is "DISCUSTING" but it can actually be better tasting because the flavors are real and not some chemicals mixed together to make the taste of chicken. i have found EVERYTHING that i normally buy in a healthier version for instance chocolate you can buy it organically and its alot better for you.
another instance is mac n cheese you can get organically same with soup raviolies bread doughnuts candey EVERYTHING you can get in the junk catagory can be found in the organic sections of the supermarket even walmart! but i recomend shopping at your local CO-OP for foods.
but overal it has been a great diet for me. and it also helps these junk food industries to start putting better stuff into there foods, the more people to eat healthy the more the big companies are going to make there food healthier.
but anyway vote how you eat.
and you can discuss your opinions on organic food natual food. advantages disadvantages.
so yeah
discuss.
[EDIT] darn it the poll thing didn't appear? well you can just post your answer i guess.
unless theres a way i can re ad it?

That's why you join a local coop. As for the taste of everything, you can take it from me that it's much better. I cook dinner all the time (as in 3-5 course meal) and I've noticed a marvelous improvement in the quality of our ingredients since we started eating organic. Everything is picked riper if you go to a coop, so it's better for you and it tastes better. There's no way you could get me to go back.

it may be a little more expensive but its worth it trust me. and the more people to eat healthy the lower the prices will be on the food.
but the key is to start making your food from fresh vegetables grains meat etc instead of out of a box.
you can still get stuff in a box organic which is alot better for you but the key is to start making your food from the basics and it tastes better that way to.
of course it takes alittle longer to make then throwing the frozen box in the microwave and taking it out and eating it but ill never ever go back to that ever.
you just feel so much better its amazing,
and the thing is that people who dont eat this well dont know how bad they feel.
when i started eating good i realized how bad that junk really was making me feel energy wise and everything else.
also this route can actually be LESS expensive then junk food because junk food costs alot to be processed etc so if you start cooking with basic food like veggies grains meats then you actually have less of a expense and more benifits.
but it is a transition because you really have to watch what you eat but in the long run its worth it.
and this doesn't mean you'll never eat stuff like fries pizza and stuff again but your basic breakfast lunch and dinner should be healthy. but i still go out with friends and get junk foor every once and a while but its about keeping your main meals healthy.
but anyway its worth it.

Well...it will probably taste like shit if you try to make something from scratch without any prior experience. You have to know what tastes good with what, and you need a fully stocked spice/herb cupboard.

thesphinx, are you a hippie? you sound like one. I like you. I used to post here a lot. nice to meet you. I dont eat organic foods, because i have no control over what my parents buy or the schools cook. I would, though. do you wear Tye-dye? i love tye-die. ever hugged the earth? i like huggung th earth because it always hugs back. to bad that when the earth breaths the second hand smoke of society, it gets sad. maybe we can chane things? i would like that.

Well i wouldn't call myself a hippie i would call myself a enviromentalist. i also really like meditating, just sitting in nature it talks back to you and it tells you of the troubles but it also tells you of the wonder and hope the world holds.
but i dont like the term hippie doesn't really describe me.
when i think of hippie i think of drugs sex and dread locks.
but anyway.
im working on a recycling project right now for a environment organization and im also starting a recycling website to get businesses to start recycling.
i also would like to start a hydrogen fuel site.
i know a bit about hydrogen and how it can be used to power vehicles.
but thats why i like organic food it helps the earth and you it makes you feel balanced instead of zoned out.
You could talk to your parents about eating healthier.
and you could bring school lunches.
school lunches are horrible for you.
anyway just a thought.
ps: i dont wear tye dye :p

this is the way it is:

The more expensive food is, the better the quality.

sure, if you truly didnt have money, you could spend 9 dollars a day for food at McDonalds' Dollar Menu. But, that would be unhealthy, and people look at that and feel that they dont want to be unhealthy, so they spend more money to get better food.

i personally dont eat organic or natural food. i am also not a vegetarian. that is on my own choice as well.

and no, YouTube's PEDA videos dont sicken me or cause me to become vegetarian and tell all of my friends about it. So many people do that and it is so annoying.

I realy dont care how much it costs to eat organic. i wont eat meat unless the animal has had a good life before it was slaughtered. also, i dont want to eat something that has more chemicals in it than a science laboritry

im not exactly upper class..and by that i mean im broke...and even though organic food is healthier/tastier/etc. i just cant afford it. My parents have refused to pay for any of the meat substitutes or other foods i eat..so i pay for (and cook..)everything I eat...if i could afford to eat organic food all the time, i would though
and tie dye rocks!!!
