jack off without watching porn

What's so wrong with watching porn? I never got that. If God really loves you, he's not gonna love you any less if you watch porn. If it's what you want to do, then do it. You shouldn't have to worry about betraying God. Sex is a natural thing, he wouldn't have created it if we weren't to take part in sexual actions.

because it's purposeful lust, lust is against God and God calls for obedience. that's why it's against him. and God says sex is for the marriage bed.

But is pornography bad, honestly? Sex waits until marriage in the Christian belief (most of the major monotheistic doctrines, honestly), but even then you're not even having sex, you're just witnessing it, and although, yes, what you're witnessing does go against the doctrine provided by the Bible, it's not anything wrong persay. You're turned on by the idea of sex. Everyone is, and repression of that is honestly futile. Now, if you've got some moral problems with it, that's perfectly fine, but basing your entire morality around the Bible quite honestly isn't the best way to go.

If you don't like it, though, then jack off without using porn. It's a sin to witness sex (especially unmarital intercourse), and a sin to fantasice about said unmarital sex, so, in essence, it's impossible to get even remotely horny without sinning. That being said, it's a victimless "crime" or sin, if you want to call it that. Is it really hurting anyone, even yourself? Is it honestly putting a damper on the holiness of your spirit or is it simply a conduit for sexual energies that you have, sexual desires? It's a part of bloody human nature.

i give him credit for believing something and try to live every part of his life by it and not just the area's that are comfortable.

And it's pretty bloody obvious that this is not a very comfortable area for him. Living by your own moral code is fantastic. Yes, I give him credit for that. But an arbitrarily developed, outside law of justice is no substitute for your own thoughts.

Fishes. I challenge you to think for a moment. Discard all your biases and think about what you're doing. Is pornography harming you? Is it harming the people you love? Is it harming the actors? What is inherently wrong with pornography (sans the religious aspects of it). I realize that religion undoubtably makes up a large portion of your life, and it can and still will, but think for yourself instead of letting someone else think for you.

Christianity says that their God is forgiving........

Christianity says that their God is forgiving........

But the creed also says that you cannot commit sins simply to purposefully ask for forgiveness afterword, because that is not true repentance.

Christianity says that their God is forgiving........

as already mentioned, it says in romans, then should i go on sinning so grace may abound? the answer was no. (this is obviously a paraphrase). the christian God is one of grace and mercy, however, to sin intentionally knowing, i will ask forgiveness, is not true repentance as stated previously.

you were very clear, didn't mean to make it sound if it wasn't. i wanted to give them where it was stated in the bible and more of what it said. no offense?

Never mind then...

But dude, listen, masturbating and watching porn hurts no one. You not jacking off is clearly making you frustrated...it's natural to masturbate. Go ahead, do it. It will hurt no one.
It kind of makes me sad that you let your religion interfere with your natural desires. :c

it takes a very strong person to stand that strongly by their beliefs. it also says in the Bible, to beat your body and make it your slave. that includes sexually.

christians are to be slaves to nothing, including sex and sexual frustration. anything, "unbiblical" you are not to be a slave of. that's where things get fuzzy. at that point, seeking counsel from those over you is a good place to start. i think we should support this guy, not try to convince of something he obviously is against and doesn't want to do. now, i don't masturbation is biblically wrong, so do it without porn maybe?

This is a very touchy topic, so i guess its good to keep it simple,
I honestly feel that religion and puberty are contradiciting each other.
It does seem that most of us would be curious and would want to learn and explore, but at the same time, it probes on the barriers of religion.

But such are things which im sure cant be taught in books , but by experience.
Afterall we are all human, that makes us the lesser beings , so i'd suppose its alright.

I believe its alright to explore and its totally not necessary to put them in the confession box.
But to each its own.

This is a very touchy topic. So keep it nice and don't flame the thread. Help the OP, don't argue about each others beliefs, or else. *shakes fist*

You know what, I bet God's doing that very thing right now. What else would there to do up there really? I mean, for eternity? He must have to give into them urges at some point.

I want you to ask yourself: are you a good person? Are you not mean? Are you in peace with others and with yourself? Do you not hate others? Do you forgive others?
If the answers are yes to all the questions above then I don't see what should make you a sinner. As you obviously don't hurt anybody.
That is my philosophy, I'm agnostic but I was Christian and I still thought it that way.

This thread just puts mean thoughts in my head, but anyway. If you're that zealous about your religion don't masturbate. If you find that maybe... It's not as important as you thought..... Do Masturbate.

IMO:Ew Religion

the thing is he won't love you any less. but it still is against his command to watch porn and masturbate. so you dissappoint him. and there isn't any point in asking for forgiveness without meaning it and for you to just turn around and do it again

Are you "Christian" like in Jesus and His teachings? Or "Christian" like in the whole Old Testament thing? Read your Bible carefully, who said what. Jesus was cool, all about love. Don't confuse that with the rest of it.

porn is porn. try helping him overcome this to honor his God. don't give him ideas when you know it does against what he believes. it's a bad struggle and it's unfortunate he's going through it without others giving him loop holes for sin in his religion.

Look, I'm not a Christian or anything so I don't know a lot about this, but ... I think it's only forbidden to have sex before you're married. So if you enjoy only with yourself, it's not really against your religion.

And besides ... Think about all that people who has done so many bad things to this world, like Hitler or bin Laden. Now, is watching a porn really so horrible you could end up at the same place as the person who started holocaust.

this depends on the type of christian you are...if you are conservative or liberal, blah blah blah.

The bible does say, not to watch porn....(not in so little words, but i don't have a bible next to me, and i'm too lazy to go look that up...anyway) Yeah, bible says don't watch porn or anything that may dampen your mind with unholiness. So most people here say, hey! don't watch porn! Well, fantasizing, (according to appologetics) is kinda like porn. So essentially, if you get horny, try not to think of anything to keep it up, just masturbate, and if you lose the boner, sucks to be you.

OR, you could disregard that, tell God you're sorry but its too difficult, and do it anyway...

It's all up to you...but i suggest NOT reading apologetics, it gets depressing.

In the old testament God allowed men to masturbate as long as they buried it under earth to hide it from God's holiness
