Join - Spread awareness

On the day 5th of September, it'll be Hope Day. We'll wear ribbons or clothes in the following colors to show support for people with mental illnesses. You can choose from any of these or even better, all:

Blue - Depression
Green - Abuse
Periwinkle/Purple - Eating Disorders
Orange - Self-harm

Please feel free to ask anyone else to join as well :) We can make a difference.

This is to spread awareness for depression, self-harm, eating disorders, abuse and other mental illnesses. So if you'd like, give me the link to or send me pictures, quotes from you or anyone else, lyrics or whatever else you think will help.

Pictures can range from anything to pictures of you(I want people to know it can happen to anyone but only if you're ready), of people and pets you love as well as those who have passed away. It could be pre and/or post eating disorder pictures.

Quotes can range from being motivating to short sentences of the pain you've gone through.

On the 5th, do and say nice things. One kind word can make a world of difference.

Yep. Craft stores will do. Hell, wear blue socks xD Anything's fine. Steal your little sister's ribbons. Jokes. But yeah, craft stores should have them :) I'm glad.

I would expect a member like you to know better than this. Firstly, posting the same thread in four separate forums is inappropriate and spamming - please do not do that again. I'm in, well... If I can go to Wal-mart and get more ribbon, and then remember the day (I'm horrible with days) I'm in! If no on the ribbon, I'm sure I can just get away with my purple shirt, then find that blue ribbon wherever it may be and use it as a choker, then if I can't find anything green or orange or that other ribbon, I'll just get a white ribbon and color it with sharpies :)

I might have some quotes laying around the house somewhere (I used to have a self made quote book full of such things) so I'll let you know if I find it! :) If not, I'm sure I can think of more things. And I'm even MORE sure I have a poem or two laying around in the depths of my computer/ that bin under my bed.

Thanks so much :) None of my friends know about my issues but I'm asking them to do this anyway and calling it Hope Day. Because who knows, there might be a lotta people like me at school and if people are willing to show they care, I know it'll make a world of difference. It's telling people like us "Hey, we understand to a certain extent. We care enough to show our support"
