Diet would be the first thing to look at when losing weight.
Make sure to eat breakfast, watch the junk food, don't eat too much, ect.
A lot of people recommend to eat 5 or so relativity small meals every day if you can.
You don't need a gym membership to lose weight. Walking/jogging is really the easiest thing you can do. Of course, you need equipment for most strength exercises, but you should be able to do that at school.
Sorry if this doesn't help much, bit too out of it to post much. I do wish you the best of luck losing weight, though.

Ah, this comes to a confidence issue. I really worry about how people see me when I got out too, so I just put my ear phones on, listen to music and try to not give a damn. Don't let those thoughts hold you back. Early in the morning is good, though. It's always nice to start off the day with exercise rather than at night which could cause sleeping issues.
1000 calories is REALLY low. Pretty sure most people recommend 2000+ a day especially because you're still a growing teen. Again, try to eat small meals throughout the day rather than a few larger ones, but don't skip meals either. Than can be equally as bad. You want to lose weight, but you want to do it a healthy way.
I truly believe the biggest thing when losing weight is motivation. It's tough, but don't give up. You'll have days where you feel great and days that'll just suck, but you can't give up or let others hold you back.

Cooking your own meals is great. That way you know exactly what you're eating and how healthy it is.
I'm not too sure about the plan with eating a large meal at night. Eating late at night could cause sleeping problems and the less sleep you get, the harder it is to lose weight. Plus, the longer you're awake at night, the greater the chance of having food cravings.
A tip for eating that I find to work quite well is to eat slowly or use chopsticks. Sounds dumb, but eating slowly really does make you feel full faster. Eating something healthy (like an apple, grapes, or carrots) can also help you feel full faster. There are all kinds of tips you can find if you search the web. Just try your best not to go crazy, don't skip meals, stay hydrated, and don't give up. Hell, if you want, make a thread to show your progression. Motivation is key and I'm sure many of us here can help with that part.

Glad to hear you're doing research. That should make things a lot easier.
Yea, I understand how that can be a little uncomfortable right now. Maybe just making a log showing your weight loss for yourself would help as well. Could always make a thread/post instead of making a blog if you feel like you can't keep going. Either way, good luck! Just remember that the final outcome is going to be worth the extra work you'll be doing to achieve it.

make sure you're eating protein. eggs, red meat, chicken, and fish. try to stay away from certain things like port and loads of carbs. they give you temporary energy, but not what you need. protein will help you stay full and rebuild muscle and you tear it down. you don't have to run. you can walk. either way, you need to be at a decent pace and continue going for at least 30-45 after you've begun sweating. before that, your heart hasn't started a good cardio workout yet.

Well conveniently I just started trying to put myself on a diet as well, and I can really relate to your situation. Appealtoreason really laid it out for you, and believe me I'll follow some of his advice, but really motivation is key. Absolutely.
My reason for starting my own diet was really emotionally driven and taking charge with my life. And earlier this week I went on a significantly long bike ride and lost two whole pounds! When you see the weight on the scale decrease little by little, that is truly a great feeling.
I'd sure love to see your progress in the form of a blog or a thread sometime. Good luck! :D

I am 5.10 and weight was 200lb. Now my weight is 160lb it is just because of doing daily 40 minutes exercise. I suggest you to do some exercises to reduce the weight of the body.

i do try and diet...but then i end up getting off...im going to try again...with counting my calories and not going over 1000 hopefully... i may go to 1200 if i have to... and i always feel weird when i run like people are watching me...should i run at night? so no one can see? or really early in the morning...
Hello to all! Well in my opinion you can try with this- drink a lot of water, there is no upper limit, the more you drink the better! And the second thing that would be great fot you is to do some exercises - some push ups (this is the most effective, becouse you need to tensing and straining your whole body) or even 20 min. of jogging are giving some great results. :yeah: Wish you luck and to be very persistent in your try to make your body the way you want it to look like!
