First time shaver eh… You should rinse your face with a good face wash then shave in the direction in which your hair is growing then wash your face again.

use an electric shaver so that there are some piece of the hair follicle above the surface of the skin, as for getting rid of them, pop the pimple and take out the hair

A shaver is a good option, and shaving along the grain of the hair would tend to prevent such issues as well.
You cant really get rid of it since its already there, guess you would just have to wait it out, there would be itches and stuff, but if it does get bad or infected, then you would have to see a physician.
But generally it does not go to that extreme, and it would subside in a few days.
Wearing loose fitting undergarments would aid in not aggravating the situation too.
Speedy recovery

Use aftershave, it will hurt like a bitch, but will really help. Also next time you take a shower scrub there real hard, again it will hurt, but will help with the pain. Make sure you use it right after shaving.
