Because in the grand scheme of things, his music is simply not that well written. I will give him little break because of his age... But there are simply better performers and song writers who go unnoticed.
But in a way, he makes each unknown artist that much more respectable.
Because you know they are doing what they do out of passion for music.

Also, he has a cult following of maniacal girls.
Which can become very, very annoying in a short period of time.

I personally dislike his voice.
And the insane amounts of coverage over the kid.
I feel like pop culture in general over hypes many peoples' abilities as performers.

I like the Bieber hes pretty cute and hes got SWAG !!! I like some of his newer stuff ( never say never, somebody to love, that should be be...)
I do get why some people like him, love him, or hate him, and thats how it should be.
