Started using your real adult name instead of your child nick name at puberty.
I was wonder if other people did this. I use to go by Robby, but after I hit puberty, I wanted to go by Robert. I don't know why, it just sounded more grown up than Robby, since now I'm a "man". I thought about Rob, but Robert sounded better to me.
I also had a friend that used his middle name, because he was a Jr., but last year he started using his true name around his fiends. (his family still uses his middle name since his Dads name's the same)
What do you think?
Did you want to be called something different at puberty?
Tell us what you changed. Like, Robby to Robert...

I don't really have a nickname that everyone calls me by. My best friend calls me Iva-Chan, my other friends call me 801-Chan (read as Yaoi-Chan...Japanese place on words :P)
But otherwise, I just get called by my name. It's too short to make into a nickname anyway.

My parents gave me a nick name for a first name. It's Jimmy. I don't like it. I've had serious thoughts about changing it.

yea I went from Bobby to Bob to Robert. Now I go by Robert for that exact reason.

Problem is my dad and I have the same name but it works.

I went from Andrew to.. Andrew. Sometimes I wonder why I didn't go by Andy when I was younger, but whatevs..

But I have seriously considered buying (legalizing, officializing, whatever..) a cool middle name because my parents never gave me one.

I went from Willy (along with two other strange nicknames that had nothing to do with my actual name) to Will. It's just the fact that you understand you're maturing and you want to seperate yourself from your childhood and become an adult, so having a more adult name helps with that.

yeah, i did as well. as you get older and get more mature, you just seem to go with a more adult name, b/c you want to be more mature
