Hey VT Moderators/Admins.
I was just curious to know when the next job post for a moderator/admin will be. Because I'm very interested to apply

thanks :)

An admin - Scarface or CaptainObvious - will post an announcement here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34) when and if they need a moderator(s). they can also personally make someone a mod without doing that, if they believe that person is capable of handling their moderator job well and is mature enough.

there is definitely no possibility of a position opening for admin.

when you see a new thread in that forum - VT Volunteer Job openings - you can apply, but you probably have to meet certain requirements (if any) and you won't necessarily be chosen.

Asking to become a moderator won't work, and will greatly lower your chances.

Since I replied, there's no need for anyone else to repeat my answer. Unless I said something wrong

And I'll add that, for some people, it takes years to become staff, if your lucky, you can apply for a position, but I wouldn't expect it for a while. If you make quality posts and follow the rules, it will help your chances

Definitly will not help, Senior staff really don't like it :P

You were given the job when you were here for only 4 months. :P

That isn't to say that mostly everybody who is new will get the job if they applied. There are certain things that the admins look for when they are considering applicants.

We'll send out applications when we feel we need another moderator, or we'll mod based on if we find anyone suitable and don't want the hassal of sending out apps. But yeah, usually to get the position you have to fit certain requirements and qualities which vary based on the position and forum we need the moderator for. (Help and advice, psych ward etc.)

You've been here for a day, kid. Never in VT History has any member been chosen that fast.
Give it at least 6 months. Get at least 500 posts.
And by asking for a position won't help your chances. See this:

Your chances of becoming a staff member if you constantly create posts and threads etc. that request you becoming a staff member are painfully worsened. There are two main processes of becoming a staff member. The first process is when an administrator posts a thread in this forum (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34), then they would choose out of the applicants the next staff member. The second is by private selection from the staff. The staff would discuss members that would work well as moderators and then they are privately contacted requesting their addition to the staff. Please do NOT make posts, threads, edits to your signature, etc. requesting to become a staff. That is once again a surefire way to worsen your chances.

I hate to say it, but you've just lessened your chances.

He hasn't lessoned his chances. Making this one thread isn't going to negatively affect anything in the future. You never know til you ask.

Sorry to disappoint but you dont meet the qualifications to apply anyway you need to have 100+ posts and have been here for I think at least 3 months. Your chances would be low anyway had there been an application announcement for it now.

If you want to be on staff quick, copy Autumn (Autumndae). I think she became a mod when she only had like 250 posts if i heard correctly.
Just be an active, helpful, honest, and useful member of the Virtual Teen community and you may have a chance when the next application process comes up.

I'm guessing there was a recent one since we have a new mod TheMatrix

Months do matter but I am doubting there ability to be on the requirement list. But being a poster who has over 500 kinda raises the chances up a notch

Post count doesn't really matter as such, so long as they have a reasonable amount (Like not 50 or 100).

I made mod when I had 250 posts, and had been here for three months.

It goes on maturity and quality of the posts that you make. You have to have good behavior. Show that you are responsible to the job at hand. :)

New mods aren't always chosen by open applications, many are chosen privately.

As someone who's actually seen VT history, I can safely say that's false. I would also have to agree, however, that mentioning it, in any way whatsoever, can and will harm your chances. But hey, spitters are quitters, so don't let it get you down.

Oh, and remember - backseat moderating won't help your chances either!

Post constructively, use grammar and be kind to other members. Stay active and you've as much chance as anyone else. :)

Being a mod takes maturity and responsibilty as that is why the mods are all nice but when they need to they take action
