Itching from shaving..?

I'm thinking about shaving for the first time, I've only ever trimmed, but I'm really worried it'll itch to much;
A few questions,
1. What did you use? Eg wax electric shaver...
2. How long have you been shaving?
3. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much does it itch. 10 being the worst
4. Have you found a way to stop the itching or make it better?

1. What did you use? manual shaver. like the cheap bic or gillete ones
2. How long have you been shaving? 6 months
3. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much does it itch. first time 10, but like 5 other times

4. Have you found a way to stop the itching or make it better? yes. I use a moisturizer and put it on a few times a day until most of the hair grows back. If you do this, get one thats easily absorbable and non greasy. I use a kind from walgreens.

Follow the pattern of your pubic hair when you shave. For e.g, if it grows downwards, shave from top to bottom. You get the idea!

Use some soap/gel/whatever to make it smooth. It won't itch unless you use a dirty and cheap blade. 3 blade shavers like Gillette Mach3 work really well.
