HTC Evo 4G? Yes or No?

I'm getting a Sprint smartphone for my bday (i have a Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept but I hate it) and Im looking at the HTC Evo 4G. The specs seem great and the reviews are really good. Should I go with the Evo or get a different phone?

I have heard very good things about those phones. I have also heard good things about the Samsung Conquer and the Samsung Epic Torch (both have been announced and are not yet available..website says 21 Aug release for the Conquer and no release date on the Epic Torch). Both are 4G and both are slated to be on Sprint.

i did have a smart phone but i broke it and got a motorola defy that serves every porpose i need. there are a ton of good pones that aint new

True... ebay or craigslist is full of plenty of unlocked nicely priced alternatives. The companies just want you to purchase the data plans.. that is where they make their $$$$ anyways
