New Hockey Thread

So I saw the necro'd hockey thread, and I'd been thinking of making a Hockey thread anyways, so here it is.

This is for anyone who p;ays hockey, enjoys watching hockey, or is interested in any way about hockey.

If you play, what level (Age and Skill) and position do you play? How'd you get started? Favorite equipment? Do you have a reffing/coaching license? Other generic questions.

If you just watch, Who's you favorite team(NHL,AHL,etc.), Your least favorite? Which position interests you the most? Why don't you try playing?

For me:

I played Defense for Travel A in the NJYHL for 6 years, Peewee-Midget U16. My last team made it to state playoffs and my Bantam team made it to Districts. I started playing hockey when my mom signed me up for Street Hockey when I was 5 since she was looking for a sport that didnt require a lot of commitment since my dad worked 3-11pm and I had a 1 year old sister. Then I moved to ice after taking learn to skate lessons at 8 yrs old.

My single favorite piece of equipment ever is my current stick, Bauer Supreme One95 Bakstrom curve 85 flex w/Grip. I love it, so of course they stopped making it. Luckily I work in a Hockey equipment store so I bought 3 before we sold out.

I am going for my Level 3 USA Hockey Referee License in 2 weeks. I hate that damn Open Book test. Failed by 2 points last time leaving me stuck at level 2 for the year.

As for casual stuff: My favorite team is the Devils, even though I barely know the players anymore. I miss stevens, Daneyko(Sp?), Pandolfo, Madden, Gomez, etc. The Penguins are 2nd, but I can't ever root for them since they have Crosby and I hate him so.

I play Inline hockey and I'm thinking about starting Ice when I go to university next year.

I've been playing for around 8 years since I was 10 as a defender. Since starting I've played at 8 national championships from U12-U16 winning 2 and coming second in 2 more :yeah: This year as an U18 I started playing for a new team and didn't qualify for any national events.

My favourite piece of equipment is my Easton SE16, which is no longer being made as the EQ range has replaced it :mad:

Man I wish I was ever good enough to be on a team that went to Nationals, I'm just average old me, making districts once is the furthest i've ever gone in tournaments. If you played on a nationally ranked inline team the transition to ice wont be that hard.

I play left wing for the west Michigan hounds u16 aaa midget minoirs. I got started at age 2 when my mom signed my up for learn to skate. I use almost all bauer stuff and my favorite equip is my total one 77 flex p14

I play RW last year in trois rivieres, but this year am sticking close to home....I love my new skates I got this summer (: EQ50's so awesome. I like my Easton stuff haha :) And you can refer to me as thee dr dangles ;) hahaha jk

I am born, raised, and living in the State of Hockey; which means you basically have to be a fan of hockey. xD My favorite team is the Minnesota Wild; I have been since their founding in 2000. (: <3 I, unfortunately, never played hockey competitively, I have for fun on frozen ponds and some nearby ice rinks, though. (:
