I lost my blade. I can't find it in my room or anywhere. I've cut all this week, but not today. I starting to freak out a bit. I can't feel use anything else and that blade was special. I made a sort of attachment to it. My mom or sister wouldn't know what to do with it or care for it, so I'm not worried that they took it. I am really starting to get thrown off. I probably wasn't going to cut but I'm starting to flip anyway.
I found my blade. For like an hour i was looking for it, even before i posted this. Now my question is who do you coop if you lost your blade? Even if it never happened, who would you deal if it did?

Maybe this is an opportunity for you to stop cutting. Try to relax and find something to do to distract you. I know how hard it can be to stop cutting. I've been recovering for a few months, but I promise that you don't need to cut no matter how much you think you do. Hang in there!

Find something else to do. Draw, exercise, call a friend... whatever it takes

i find if you find something you love to do with occupies both you mind and hands, it usually helps, for example, i play the piano when i feel like cutting, it takes a while to get into it, but at the end you still feel like youve achieved something, but instead this way its constructive and you never know, the time it takes you to do your hobby could mean it gives you type to get over the impulse. xxx oh and try as hard as you can not to be alone, when your round other people its more awkward to cut. x

sorry thats off the topic, the lost blade thing, try keeping it in a pot on your desk or something like that, if its in your pocket or somewhere like that, you can easily lose it. x

I'm always scared of losing my blade just because someone else might find it! And also because I wouldn't know how to cope without it.
I bought a pack on 10 double sided blades and snapped them all in half so I have 20. I have 10 hidden in a box in the hole in my wall (I punched it when I got mad :P ) and the other 10 in really random places, like selotaped to the back of a used iTunes card in my purse or to the bottom of a metal tin of mints.

so does your blade have a name? seeing as you're so attached to it?
Yeah, that won't help.
I have a pocketknife and a pencil sharpener blade that I keep together and on me just about all the time. Tbh, not sure what would happen if I lost them, seeing as it hasn't happened yet.

Umm, why would you actually say that? It really doesn't help at all. No it doesn't have a freaking name.

No offense, but that off a bit rude.

I've lost my blades many times, but I just go out and buy more when that happens.

Omg, immediately reading this, my heart raced a little faster, I feel your pain. I know that feeling of throwing everything around, searching underneath the sink, in drawers, in cabinets.
It's saved me from cutting a few times, I guess that's the good thing about it.
And the attachment thing, I totally understand too. At the risk of sounding crazy, I'm going to admit that I used to sleep holding my blade whenever I was home alone.. usually after a night I had cut. My therapist made me throw it out. It actually freed me a lot.

Thanks for understanding. I was flipping out. What if my mom found it, or my sister? What if I can't find it? It's frustrating.

It's the comfort knowing that it's there, I know :/
A couple of times my mom's found past blades and just threw them out without bringing it up. She's reluctant on even lending me razors just to shave my legs. It's embarrassing sometimes.
