It's normal and a lot of people do it. I have done it twice, it doesn't taste bad, it's salty but it's way too thick for me to enjoy it. I heard it has a lot of proteins. ;)

I have, in fact. It saves me a lot of cleaning whenever I'm done, and to be frank, it doesn't taste that bad at all ^_^
But as an answer to your question, I've talked to quite a lot of people who did it as well, so it certainly does happen. I don't think it's that abnormal myself, either.
