on a regular basis including cold weather i just sleep in shorts

In the winter, usually sweatpants/pajama pants (Always guys, haha) and a teeshirt/sweatshirt. In the summer, a teeshirt and shorts or boxers.

For some reason, I've found that guys sweatpants and pajama pants are so much more comfortable for girls. Plus, they're always thicker and warmer, and I get really cold in the winter, so it helps. On top of that, they're not made for girls that are 5'4'', when I'm 5'9'', almost pushing 5'10''.
