y0,

Haven't written in a while, so I figured I'd return to my pastime. Wrote this with the notes app on my iPod, tried proofreading the best I could...but knowing that it's 2am, my eyes are blurry. 0o

Also, I'll be posting rough drafts etc on my VT blog, and put the edited ones here. :). Will edit in the additional chapters. :)

Happy reading!

Ugh, I don't know what's up with the asterisks, but it's from copypasting from Notes.

Shadow II: Chap 1

The following story is the sequel to my short story I wrote for English class in 8th grade.

This story is told in first person by a variety of people, as noted by chapter name.

(Chap 1) James: The Castle

** * It was a cool dark night in the village, it was raining, everyone had gone to sleep peacefully and safely in their warm houses. Everyone but me. *I was wide away staring out the window, I looked at the castle on the hill wondering, just wondering what happened there last month.*

** * Last month, my good friend Sam had gone missing. *I heard screams echoing from that wretched building. *The police investigated the mystery and could not find him. Everyone in town had not seen him, according to police. **I had a feeling that there's a connection between the night Sam went missing, and those screams from the castle. *I felt he needed to go and investigate himself, what if the police lied? *What if they were instrumental in this mystery? *

** * Another scream...

** * I assumed that it must have been from the castle. *I put on my shoes, and grabbed his coat and flashlight. *I looked out the window again, a flash of lightening was seen, soon followed by a heavy sound of thunder. I left my parents' house and headed to the castle.*

** * I walked in the heavy rainfall, it was twilight as I headed toward the stronghold. It was on a large hill, it reeked of expelled bodies, you could see that this wasteland was literally covered in human skulls. *There was no life here, no grass, the trees had died, and the was an uncomfortable eeriness about. *I somehow made it to the door without vomiting from this nightmare for my nose, I could barely handle this stench! *I opened the door gently, the person that I heard earlier howled again, even louder. *

** * I walk through the corridors, there was some sort of presence there, I couldn't describe it, I felt like I was being watched. The construction of this manor was rather impressive. It was gothic styled, though it had aged and is now crumbling. The nasty smell had subsided, good. I shined my flashlight into another corridor, with many rooms along the sides and on at the very end.*

** * There was some sort of light in the room at the very end of the hall, like a candle light. *I raced towards the room as fast as I could. I nearly reached it when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest. *I looked down and saw that an arrow had been shot at me, it wedged itself right through me. *I fell to the ground.*

~End of Chapter One~

What do you think so far?

Ok, I dug up the prequel to this it's on my VT blog. I'll need to do a lot of editing with the sequel because it contradicts a ton with the prequel. It should be done in 11 hours.

Happy Reading!
