I don't know if this is already implemented, and I don't know how to check myself either so I'll just say it and assume it's not already being used.

Do any of you think it would be a good idea to deduct someone's post count for a thread that got locked? For example, in the P101 section threads are getting locked all the time. What I'm saying is if someone has 10 posts before they create their topic, and then make a thread and then have 11 posts but the thread gets locked, to go back down to 10? And not just the OP but anyone who responded in the thread, since it's no longer in use and nobody could add any feedback to it.

I don't see what the point of this would be? They made the post, it's done with. There's no point deducting them just because a thread was locked. The post still exists.

This just seems a tad trivial... and useless. o_O What does it matter if they have one more or less in their post count?

Exactly what she said. One post isn't really much of anything, locked or not. If the person were to spam threads that kept on getting locked then it wouldn't really matter anyways, because they'd end up banned or something. =P

Post count is representative of forum activity. Just because your thread got locked doesn't mean you weren't being active by posting it. And if it was just a spam post it would get deleted, which would knock the post count back down.

Just because a thread is locked, doesn't mean that it can't still be of use and therefore the post they made still serves a purpose. If someone is searching for an answer to their question and they find a locked thread that answers it for them, then the thread serves its purpose.

I'm pretty sure it's not even possible to implement this in the first place. and it's pointless too

Like others have said, this would be absolutely pointless.
Post count is just a representation of activity.

Well, it's not even possible as far as I'm aware on vBulletin software anyway, plus I don't exactly see the point of it. There's no reason why you should lose a post because the thread got locked.

Is there any specific reason you suggested this?
