well, i suggest you tell him they're presuring you to go on a date with him, your comfortable being just friends, and ask him to lie for you to them, you go on a "date"..do usuall stuff, go for a drink or smth and tell your friends it just isnt working that way..they will be happy bcs you did what they said but you still do what you want...being just friends :) besides you need to make your friends happy to stick with them.
