In the United States, if you have a naked picture of your girlfriend and you're underage, you're a sex offender. Which, you know, is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. If you're a underage adolescent boy, you can be charged with child pornography and RAPE, even if the sex was completely consensual.
All crimes aren't equal, and all crimes shouldn't carry the same punishment. However, the sex offenses all have the same consequenses: being labeled as a sex offender for the rest of your life.
I'm not saying that actual rape, actual sexual assault should be condoned underage, that is simply horrid and absolutely NOT permissible under any circumstance. But these minor "crimes" as our government chooses to call them, sexting, consensual sex, etc. carry the same life sentence as rape (of course, the sentences may differ between case to case, but that doesn't remove the fact that you're being labeled a sex offender).
What do you think?
