Does anyone have specific songs they listen to to try and make themselves feel better instead of cutting?
Or even songs that trigger them to cut that the rest of us can try and avoid! :)
One of the main songs that can both trigger or help for me is Cut by Plumb. Sometimes it gets the emotions out that cutting normally does, but sometimes it makes me want to cut

See you on the other side by Ozzy Osbourne can have both effects on me,mostly as a trigger cuz it reminds me of the loss i had
Almost every song by Phil Collins helps, his voice calms me

Depending on why I want to cut, different things help. Generally Never Too Late by Three Days Grace, and the slow version of Mad World, along with some other song I forgot at the moment really help when I'm upset because of depression.
If I'm angry, sometimes the Clincher by Chevelle can help, and so far I havn't been triggered by it, however once the music video did make me have a mini anxiety attack that subsided within an hour or so.

Weird, was going to post the same thing.
Though, the original Mad World is one of my triggers, too.

I really can't handle anything by Patsy Cline, or anything that sound remotely similar. You know, that drippy old music, not the good old music. I really can't explain why.
I get a bit weird over My Immortal, Bring me to Life, and Everybody's Fool by Evanescence since those both trigger and help.

Pain - Three Days Grace is more of a trigger then a help, but it has helped once or twice.

erm yeah any evanescence can be good or bad for me (just depends at the time) numb - linkin park is again both good and bad, rise above this - seether helps a lot for me. Also "angry songs" help me like stuff by five finger death punch. Razor - foo fighters can be triggering but has also helped a lot.

Music doesn't trigger me, thank god. The emotional stuff just helps as well as the positive stuff. Even songs like Bad Habit by The Dresden Dolls only just make me feel better about it.
Even though it's not my type of music, The Way She Feels got me through a huge part of my life. It's the song I sung to myself every single night the first time I was in the hospital, and the song/video a classmate played on one TWLOHA day when I "came out" to my drama group about it. It's hard to listen to now, but still doesn't trigger me.
EDIT: On second thought, I do remember one night I listened to Asleep by The Smiths and cut that night. It wasn't in reaction to the music though, just in conjunction with it.

Songs have never triggered me, but some songs have helped - especially Tied Together With A Smile by Taylor Swift and Hello by Evanescence.

I see what you meant by the videos being a trigger. Lets just say it didn't help then.

life after you by daughtry is kind of a trigger because it reminds me of when I thought i lost someone i love forever
bullet by hollywood undead is a help for me also. Like it's been said and thought by a lot of the HU fans, its a song about suicide and self destruction but its too upbeat to make you feel sad. I blast it and sing to it in the car with my mom. it creeps her out a bit lol

Songs always trigger, it's what I do to put myself into a cutting state... The songs I listen to (and ovcourse don't advise) are:
Linkin park - numb/iridescent
Pink - fuckin perfect
Sick puppies - all the same
Avril lavigne - loosing grip
Birdy - shelter
My chemical romance - ghost of you/cancer
Demi lovato - skyscraper
I also have a playlist labeled 'happy' to try and pick me up. All cheery pop rock dancey tracks but Havnt really used it yet...

Slow piano solos are the ones that trigger for me because they're sad, and reminds me of my bad situations in the past. They're also very pretty, and make me depressed because it makes me think of how I'll never be that pretty :/
Any Artist vs Poet song helps me feel better :)
