I know it sounds stupid, but I want to bring my blade on holiday. I know that I won't use it though, because I haven't done it in so long, I doubt I'll slip up while I'm on holiday.
It might sound weird, but I carry my blade around with me almost all the time, because when I have an urge to do it, just knowing that I have a blade and that I could do it is enough to keep me sane. If I didn't have it with me, there's a good chance I'd freak out and do it with anything I could find.
I know I won't use it, I know I won't, but it's just... I'd feel bad if I took it with me, I think I'd feel guilty. I just don't want to risk freaking out because I don't have it and end up breaking open a razor or something.
Opinions?

It makes complete sense to me. Just having your blade there is comforting. It might even make your holiday better as you'll be happier with the thought that you won't have to worry about freaking out and not having your blade. I think you should take it with you.
I carry a blade with me almost everywhere too. Just carrying it or holding it calms me down.

Sorry, this may be a bit short but... brain is only half on.
You said that you carry it around everywhere anyway. Maybe this will be a good time to try without having it around. You can't carry it around forever, so take this as an opportunity that has arisen. If you do end up freaking out, well, it happens to the best of us. But the blade can't always be a "crutch", so to speak.
You can do it, Georgia. :)

I understand because I do the same thing. It's not weird at all. I would bring the blade to stop from freaking out, but please try not to use it. Even though it can be so hard to resist the urge, I promise you don't need to cut!

take it with you, a holiday isnt necessarily a time to stop, cos going into panic mode is not a nice way to spend a hoiday.... but maybe just before you go try a day or two without it, but having it where you may be able to get to it easily the first day.... but i understand what you mean, i always carry mine around me and i go for weeks at a time without cutting. x

Thanks guys :) I'll try and go out a few times without it over the next few days and see how I go with that, and if it goes alright, I might go without it. If I start to feel like I might have a panic attack, I'll bring it with me.

I think you have chosen to do the sensible thing, see how you are before the holiday. If your only taking it to comfort and reasure you then i dont really see a problem with it.. your only problem is, is if something triggers you. If you know you wont do it, you dont really need to take it. Its all about seeing how you are just before you go.
Have an awesome holiday georgia!! :D

Try stitching the blade into a purse or bag you really like that is going with you. That way you have the knowledge that your blade is there with you, but, you would have to ruin something you really liked in order to use it. It would make you think twice.
My friend did it with her credit card when she got into a load of debt and it worked really well for her!

Doesn't sound weird, I carry a blade with me all the time so when I have an urge, it's there.

It's a good idea if you think you're comfortable knowing you don't need it but it's there for you just in case.
