I havent seen anyone about this, or really talked to anyone about it apart from drunk ramblings one time to my friends (HATE when I do that) .. But Im pretttty sure I have some kinda anxiety. Its not bad all the time, it changes, some weeks are worse than others.
My room and my belongings have to be in perfect order, and if something is out of place it grows on me til I finally lose it. I get stressed over little things too, and once something gets to me, it sets of everything else. Ive had a few of what I THINK are anxiety attacks.
Anyways what I was wondering was, who would you go to about this?
Your local GP?
Could you go to him asking for anxiety pills without really getting DEEP into the issue or having to see a physciatrist?
Please and thank you.

Um.. That's not anxiety. That's OCD. Even if it was anxiety, doctors don't write out prescriptions for extremely addictive medications without a thorough eval.

You guys can't just diagnose them with OCD. Things like this are sometimes just symptoms of underlying stress.
You have said that if your room is extremely messy it will grow on you until you lose it. I've experienced this numerous times. When you get so stressed out even the littlest of things can bother you, things such as a messy room. It's out of order and it just weighs on you because every single time you step foot into that room you have to stare at it, and the burden of knowing you have to clean it but just can't bring yourself to it is horrible.
Do you know what a Anxiety (Panic) attack is? You need to make sure you know the difference between an attack and just you losing control of your emotions. It often times comes with a tightening of the chest and a feeling of you being unable to breath. It panics you, hence the name, and for your first few times if you aren't sure what it is it will make you feel like you are going to die.
If you are so sure you are suffering from Panic Attacks then you need to see your doctor first and let them tell you whether or not this is a big case of stress or not. They need to be the ones to prescribe you the medicine. They will poke and prod in your mind a bit but it would be good for you.
Since now I'm sure they have you going, "OH WAIT! OCD?" I'll give you the link to our Mental Illness>OCD forum part. http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19" (") Just so you can get that off your mind.

even if it is ocd, that's an anxiety disorder. i have autism, tourettes, mild ocd. i go to a neurologist and physciatrist for my meds. the phyc doesn't get all deep about anything, he goes over my symptoms and prescribes meds according to what he believes is wrong. i've been given tons of different meds, but now we finally found a good mix that helps. nothing can "fix" you, but it can help you. if it is ocd, i found that ocd therapy helped alot! i have many unrealistic obsessions and fears caused by ocd and having autism on top of that, is terrible. getting help was the best thing i could have done.
now, on my meds, people don't tend to realize i'm autistic. they can still see the tourettes/ocd issues, but i'm doing much better socially and my anxiety level is waaay down.
btw, i take depakot and lexapro

I'm afraid your GP wouldn't be able to just throw pills at you. You would have to go through some basic psychological tests and have a really good chat about it all before he would put you on anything.

I couldn't agree more.
If the problem is that distressing, SEE A PHYSICIAN! Find a psychiatrist and get treated properly. You should not be seeking professional advice on a forum, even one as good as this. See a psychiatrist. General practitioners do not have the know-how to properly treat these things, but they think they do. See a psychiatrist.

anxiety pills dont work . The SSRIs dont work. The benzos (xanax, klonopin, etc.) DO work. Though most doctors dont like to prescribe them. I say dont even waste your time trying the SSRIs. They did me more harm than good. I cant recommend illegal drug use on this site without being banned, but i will say : SSRIs did me more harm than weed.
