Arm pit hairs

In the locker room at my school, I usually see some guys older than 14 without their pit hairs. I always wondered if they shaved them and why?! I use to mimic them and shave it but it got old really quick and hard to maintain them. Do you guys shave your armpits?? If why?

I don't have a lot of pit hair either (17) but have thought about doing it-- just to see. I have heard that some guys do it because it cuts down on odor (if they have a lot) and perspiration will collect and stain shirts. I do not know how truthful that is, but it seems pretty logical. I think it can be a personal decision also, they just don't want it and may think it is ugly.. Still yet, as mentioned above, they may not be that advanced through puberty yet and may not have a lot to see.

They probably just didn't have them. I didn't start growing armpit hair until I was 16

I wouldn't shave them. Maybe they are on a swim team or like it that way.

i would recommend to not shave. I have more hair than the average guy my age, and honestly the only reason i shave is to trim.... Most guys dont get hair under their arms until 16/17. granted, im 15 and i have more hair under my arm than a 30 year old guy... but thats when i dont trim.

Probably they haven't hit puberty yet. My pit hairs are pretty long so I should just trim.

I don't have much pit hair to begin with so I wouldn't shave them. But if u have alot of them, trimming would be ok

I personally wouldn't completely shave my armpits but if they got a bit long I would trim them

I would never shave mine completely, and I don't think the 14 y/o actually shave them, they just might not have them yet.

I do shave shave my armpits because It feels better for me and I'm not big on body hair. It feels really smooth!

It's more likely that they haven't started getting any yet than they're shaving it. If they are shaving it though it's probably to stop/reduce BO. Apparently the sweat can, effectively, get stuck on the hairs and make the smell linger for longer.

I'm 14 and dont have arm pit hair - thank god. it's gross and i would definently shave or trim it.

I don't shave mine even though I'm a swimmer. Maybe I would trim if it got annoying but 14 y/o without hair? Probably just not quite there yet.

im 14 and i dont have that much but i kno some of my friends have a whole bunch. even some guys younger than me have loads but i dont have that much. i guess its just how some of us grow

I didn't have any hairs in my armpits until I was 15 1/2. So I didn't got them naturally. Now there isn't too much hair there yet. I only trim as long hair there just looks gross.

i'm 15 and i barely have any armpit hair so maybe they're like me and just don't have much yet.
