hi everyone

ive just bought an ipad 2 and yes i know the ipad 3 is suppose to be coming out soon but hey i wanted one know so i bought one

my question is for anyone else who has ipad i wanna know what the things use it for and whats best to put on like apps and stuff :)

i have an iPad 2 myself. it's good to use for just about anything except heavy multitasking, since apps can't run side by side and take up the entire screen. i like all the social networking apps as well as Flipboard for my daily consumption of personalized news. there's also some good weather apps and fun games like World of Goo or Death Rally or even just Sodoku.

your best bet is to just get on the app store and explore them all in the top charts or in Genius recommendations.

also, the iPad 3 coming out soon is just a rumor -- and a very unlikely rumor at that. i follow tech news very closely and offer plenty of insight on it and i have a hard time believing the iPad 3 is coming, at least not until early next year.

I didn't mean it that way. I meant it would be coming out shortly after 2, but I won't buy an iPad anyway. Need to buy my laptop and server first...

They aren't that expensive, I have one for €0,75/month.

A laptop and a literal server. About $2200, but it's worth it.

There is just too much you can do when you have your own server and fast Internet. :)

Android is the only way to go for real multitasking and extremely high performance since any company can manufacture a tablet with it and put any hardware they want in it. Also it's open source so anyone can make a new ROM and have different features.

No one knows for sure what Apple is going to do. If they claim they do they are lying, or maybe they know Steve Jobs personally? Apple is one of the most notoriously secretive companies out there. The rumor of the ipad 3 has been tossed around, now a possible ipad2+ might be coming...who knows. Personally, I don't think it will happen either, but then again Apple likes to beat to their own drum... ant they like the "free press" and the way the rumors keep them in the news. Would it shock me to put a new one out for the holiday shopping season? Absolutely NOT,will i happen? Highly unlikely. Let's all wait and see.

He still works there and is still the CEO, but is not running the day to day operations as he had before (passed that to Tim Cook, COO). The cancer has been well documented and he is probably declining in health, however he is still part of the team of critical decision makers for the company. Still, I am sure that most major decisions still must get Steve's seal of approval.
