As many of us know, if not all of us, the American economy is declining while China, India, and the South America (as a whole) continue to progress efficiently. That being said, which of the three do you believe will be the next superpower? Also, after the fact of said country assuming power, what do you think the next upcoming economic center?

This video shows the rise of the West and nations after it. I suggest watching it.

China, they have so many people, so literally and infinite work force. They are so wealthy as well. I will be happy when they do, because America no longer deserves to be even considered as a super power. Our exports are pathetic in comparison to them and we import so much. It will be good for America to change positions.

It's most likely going to be China. And with a bit of pushing, North Korea has a chance.

The only downside is China is growing much too rapidly. I think it's going to cause a bunch of problems (one of which being inflation and another being workers rights) that I don't think they'll be able to supress as they might expect to.

As for the economic future, it's hard to tell. As you so aptly pointed out there are numerous nations out there that are growing to be economic icons, but for right now I would wait until the dust clears and the global economy is stabilized.

The growth of China's economy isn't necessarily a downside. Maybe at a national level, but at an individual level, all you have to do is invest in the Chinese market. People will say "that's unpatriotic", but one of the best pieces of advice I've ever received, from my Uncle who is a self made millionaire, is "take the emotion out of it."

And you can't automatically take out India. Right now, India is right up there with China. Both have steadily, if not rapidly, growing populations. The more people there are the more money there is to spend, and the faster the economy grows. The larger the economy, the more jobs will be available. Think of it as an equivalent to a humans metabolism. The more you eat, the faster it is. The more people there are, the more efficient the economy is.

South America will obviously be second, and it won't be a gamble when investing in the market there.

I put my money on China.I sort of see America going to the background, and decline(which I think you Along with others have said.I'm not going to say it's just going to dissolve like it's nothing, but I think it will lose it's status.I think China will start to have a personal revolution, and then they will get a high surplus of the middle class too.I think people will be given more freedoms(economically speaking).I think they will start to do even more mass producing in goods like plastic and electronics as America goes through what I call it's second great depression(I call it that, for two reason,we have our money problems and we're having droughts).

India is getting up there, but I think China has a head start over them. It's bigger and we buy a lot more of their products.

EDIT: I got my audio fixed and saw the video, very interesting.I liked the man's outlook, very positive. He had a real good way with words too :P.

The developing Asian countries, specifically Chine and India, will probably reign during this century. Countries that provide them with the raw materials needed to power those economic powerhouses, like Australia, the Middle East and some African nations, will see good economic times in the future as well.

China. Not only is their economy huge, strong force that has it's hand in many diverse and long term efficient projects. Their children are smarter than us, leading in math, engineering, and science.
Another surprising country on the rise is Germany. This was the only country that was pretty stable during the European economy crisis because of the manufacturing business.
I also feel like India has a good chance of beating us aswell.

China's economy is likely to slow down within the next few years. Nothing grows fast forever. I read somewhere that its easy to reach the same economical level as other countries, but its difficult to over take them.

I think its likely that China will become a sort of global superpower, but due to some poor decisions from their government, within a certain period of time ( I'm not too sure how long, maybe a few decades?) they will fall slightly while other BRIC countries will come out on top.

Europe?! No chance! Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and more have huge debt problems. Europe is looking set to go down, not up!

Half of Europe is in debt, there is no way they will. Probably China or India, but I don't think the U.S. will be that far off, at least in the top 10 still

While America will always have the most powerful military, China already is the most powerful economic country and will always be until we get a leader to turn it around.

We may not have the military status forever. Next few decades, probably, but after that, there are a lot of developing countries, and they're developing fast...

Economically, China will probably be in first place soon. I would not underestimate the United States, though. We still have a chance, small chance - but - we are not as bad as Europe is.

China still has a long way to go though to be a military superpower, they have a huge military - yes- but manpower is all good but you need to have a way to transport them - they don't. Their navy and airforce is still way behind the United States.
