View Full Version : What is wrong with the world?

Nukes? Tanks? Bombers? WHY
The US has enough nukes to clear the entire surface of the world 6+ times.. WTF is the point? N. Korea was attempting to get nukes and still probably is... WHY?

The world is so fucked up today its crazy, I really wouldn't be surprised if the entire world was sent into a nuclear winter because sum1 launched nukes then sum1 else did and so forth...

The US is 9 trillion dollars in debt and is losing 1.69billion per day. All the gold in fort knox has been sold. We are under threat of terrorist attacks almost constantly. Our military has people in multiple other countries and we are really not accomplishing anything other then the death of OUR people.

Global warming is becoming a huge problem and our president isn't doing jack shit to prepare or stop it... The arguably most powerful country in the world is seemingly unaware of one of the greatest threats to our species...

We have racism still happening everyday in the US. People are being harrassed or killed because of race/sexual pref. The gov. is even in on it... banning homosexual people from getting married in 49 of the 50 states, but we have them fighting in the military and dieing...

Social Security is pretty much wishful thinking for my generation and all the generations to come. Aswell as most other benefits senior citizens get.. probably even well-fare and medicade

The rich are becoming very seperated from the rich/poor and the middle class are falling into the poor class... And again the gov. is doing NOTHING to stop it except raise min. wage which will not help because then the buisnesses will not be able to afford to pay for the "extra" people and thus all the disabled people will be out of a job, aswell as any other people that arn't absolutely needed. This will also make people wanting to start a new buisness think twice and possibly decide not to.

"WE NEED A NEW PRESIDENT"

No we don't. President Bush is a great President. Open your eyes and you'll see why many other people along with me are right and that you are wrong.

Really? Mind explaining a bit?
-"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous.

And having said that, all options are on the table." George W. Bush, Brussels, Belgium, Feb. 22, 2005
Yeh, its good to lie to your country huh?

"Free societies are hopeful societies. And free societies will be allies against these hateful few who have no conscience, who kill at the whim of a hat."
Yea killing at the whim of a hat is pretty bad huh?
"[A] free Iraq is essential to our respective securities."
20k troops walking all over your land makes you feel really free huh?

Jamz, it's probably best to ignore him as he just wants to go around saying that he is right and everyone else is wrong, if you want a mature debate, it wont be with him.

Lol, I forgot;;
I agree with everything you are saying, I think Bush is a terrible president. He really isnt doing much for his people, his priorities are terrible, and I hate how our troops are over in Iraq dying but having not much progress being made. I really do think all this war is unnecessary, there has got to be better things to do with our money, people, and resources. Banning gay marriage, well that is just plain ridiculous - banning gay marriage...that's like saying no to love, gay people have a right to love, and denying it, that sickens me.

you have to remember that the official religion of the united states is christian, a religion that forbids homosexuality. it is much worse for gays in some middle eastern countries where sodomy is an offence punishable by death by beheading.

There is no official religion of the US. Atleast thats what I thought... The gov. and religion are seperated by law. Otherwise over a period of time there would be christian presidents saying all athiests are communists then poof, war on athiests. BUT if I'm wrong, there is another thing wrong with the US

Christianity has never been totally seperate from US government. We say "one nation, under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Our money says "In God we Trust." The Declaration of Independence references to God and God-given rights multiple times. In court, you swear on the Bible. And, to put the icing on the theocratic cake, many politicians and administrations of the government have been passing laws under religious belief.

The worst of it though is when people use Christianity as a club to beat down minorities and those who go against the flow. During the huge Communism scare in the 50's, people were bashing Communism because it wasn't "Christian." When racist whites were protesting Civil Rights and school integration, some made signs saying "Protect our Christian America". Apparently it was un-Godly to love and respect all races. Ugh, people make me sick. And now Christians are having a field day making sure homosexuals don't get married.

There's supposed to be a separation from church and state, but it's a very weak wall.

Yes Christianity doesn't approve of homosexuality and being Bi but I don't think it does approve of hate, which is a pure human quality

And one thing, the world isn't the US

True, I noticed that after I had set the topic name and I couldn't change it.
But some of the stuff does apply to the world aswell as the US. I've been really annoyed with humans in general lately, cuz I've been noticing all the bullshit things that they do to each other. I always knew about it but I never really thought about it I guess... Humans are so cruel to each other its really sad. I worry almost every day that one day someone will launch a nuke or a major country will invade and start another World War.

Humans are seriously flawed as far as hate and anger go.. God (if there is one) needs to redo some shit and turn this world around..

We are aware of this problem, and will begin working on it immediately.

We say all of that because our forefathers, the founders the the country set those rituals as a tradition. The reason why we still do all of that is because it is a tradition and a remembrance to the people who started this country.

But it's still no excuse for Christianity to set the laws. Acknowledging God in the Pledge of Allegiance and on money is fine but religion should never rule a government. Sadly the US has too many theocratical policies (banning gay marriage etc.)

True, but, Christianity DID set the laws back when the country was being adolescented after the Revolutionary War. The reason why we still have them today is because those laws have succeeded and brought America to be the strongest and best country in the World.

I do think that Gay rights should be allowed though.

Christianity doesn't approve the death penalty, but I seem to understand that the U.S christians follow the book of hate ( Old testament )
