What country would you say has the best trained military, not for size or weapon capabilities but best trained

England has the worlds best special forces in the SAS. It is what all others special forces regiments around the world are based off. After that I would say spetnaz because those guys are bloody crazy.
(Btw I'm not a COD fanboy, these are my opinion on the actual best)

He says best trained military, not the "best trained special operations squad".
Well it is probably the US.

Special ops is still military though
And the US are notorious for friendly fire incidents :)

Special Ops is barely military, you don't see them in an open field, or in the streets fighting people.
Name me another country with advanced military, then.

Neither of those things are necessarily required for a group to be part of the military. I'm going to have to agree that it's probably Britain or Russia.

True, but when we are comparing the entire armed forces, the answer should be generalised. SAS / Spetsnaz are the best trained two forces, I know. But that does not mean the entire army is as hardcore as them.

The Red Army was pretty hardcore back in the Cold War, for me. However, my impressions are mostly from exaggerations and mythical biases games had on them.
Still, the US still takes up my No. 1 spot as a first when it comes to the Military. It's another reason why the US maintains a certain hold in world politics and act as a kind of peacekeeper to it.

I wouldn't want to mess with the Israeli's.

Let's wait until Bimmerhead discovers this! :P

What about the French Foreign Legion? I see them as dangerous, insane war-lovers that should not be allowed to exist, but that also makes them elite troops...

IT'S AMERICA'S OF COURSE YOU PEOLPE LOLOLOL!jk :3!.I don't think America's army is bad or anything ,I just imagine it be hard to train all the people we have for us to be number one trained.
On a serious note,I would have to say Israel. It's much smaller then most, and with less people I think it be easier to train people to be more specialized.

Israel is pretty fucking intense but they are trained by the US sooo US.
In terms of special forces I'm sorry but the SEALs and Delta Force are the best.
Awesome

US isn't the best trained but its the best because of the technology we have.
I'd go with best trained as Israel

The French Foreign Legion ARE NOT insane war lovers, do mind that, sir.
As for the number one military in the world, I have to admit its the US. Sooner or later, I predict that someone would include China on this matter.

The USA has alot of soldiers but my rationale here is Canada doesnt have the best trained (average) soldier but they are quite good. the RCF has only an 8 week boot camp for regular forces but we sure can train them good. I think one reason for this is the friendliness of the CO's. From my tour of the CFB near me in Edmonton trainers are nice yet still firm and demanding and greatly respected.
and in reply to others, yeah I wouldn't want to mess with the israelis or the russians.

I can't see it happening, especially with the anti-war sentiments of global organizations. It would be fun to watch, still. Better than those reenactments on History Channel.
Oh yeah, I forgot. The Gurkhas also are one of those Spartan-ish groups that are also topping my list. They're badass.

While I have to agree that strength in numbers is a major factor, I think China still lags when it comes to training. China has more people to train than other armies. It's a matter of opinion, though. I think that with more people, the training is harder to distribute.

Keep in mind, good Sir, that Darkwoon is French. He should know better. :P

I'd have to say Israel or Britian. In terms of insanity, the Spetsnaz are 300 heads above everyone else. Good god. Those people are mental.

Well it would go to the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) if you want to fight about it, look them up, 'nuff said. Crazy bastards... But in second place I'd say United States of America. Then United Kingdom. Then Russia. etc.
