Putting Aloe in the freezer for a half hour before use generally helps with the pain.

For those of you suggesting ice. Yes, but not directly. have it wrapped in a towel

you'll have to just let it heal. aloe cooling gel has helped me. this is why you should use sunblock if you will be outside in strong sunlight for extended periods. they don't stress that for nothing.

Aloe and ice help. Also talk to your local pharmacist. They can recommend somthing.

Take a hot shower, let it sting for a little bit, and then use some aloe. Solarcaine works wonders for me. Although the only time I get sunburnt is when I'm below 40 degrees latitude...

Ice is actually not the best idea. The nerves on the skin that are already sunburnt might become damaged from that severe cold depending on the degree of sunburn.

I ment in addition to and as it has already been stated have it wrapped in a towel, and as an EMT we put ice because it numbs those sensitive nerves.
