ive recently decided that i dont want to see my dad because when im with him i dont feel safe manly because he smokes alot of weed but half the time im not sure. but hes starting to notice that i never go and see him. my sisters trying to get me to go see him but i refuse.im starting to doubt myself but im still determined, is what im doing ok? :confused: :( :mad:

Try talking to your dad, ask him if he would mind not smoking when you're visiting. Take your sister with you when your talking to him incase he gets angry. If he agrees, would you feel more comfortable visiting him then?

I do not really see the link between him smoking plenty of weed and visiting him,
If you are pointing in the direction of health hazard, then im sure you can work things out with him over smoking lesser in your presence.

But i believe there is a deeper misunderstanding between the both of you, and avoiding it is not the way to resolve the matter.

Talking to him about it should be the way to go. Afterall he is your dad, i am sure he would not mind having a heart to heart talk with his own daughter right?
Morever if he is totally unapproachable, you sisters would not be going over to visit him in the first place.

You know, you should just tell him that you don't want to do anything with him when he's smoking this thing. You can tell him, that you still love him and everything but you don't feel save around him. Or maybe your mom or sister should tell it for you. I swear, when my mom told my uncle that I'm affraid of him because all of the things he did around me, he went better and ... well, he's still not perfect (or even normal) but he thought a lot about it and he's better now.

Why not ask him to stop just while you're there

Go see him. Ask him not to smoke around you and tell him how you feel. Don't just cut off connection with him because of something like that that can be discussed. I lost my dad a few years ago, you really don't want to have some life like that not there.
