I am really interested in this, but i have no idea if it should be categorized as Food or Drugs.
Is there any truth in this? or is it just a matter of pyscological perception?
Assuming it is, does it work for both genders?
Or if anyone has any experiences with it?

Moved Drugs:arrow:Cooking and Food. Chocolate isn't a drug :P
In all honesty it isn't proven. I do know chocolate has a chemical in it to make people happy, much like drinking wine does (releasing the endorphins in your brain) and is why people often times turn to it when sad.
Nowadays, scientists ascribe the aphrodisiac qualities of chocolate, if any, to two chemicals it contains. One, tryptophan, is a building block of serotonin, a brain chemical involved in sexual arousal. The other, phenylethylamine, a stimulant related to amphetamine, is released in the brain when people fall in love.

But chocolate is from coca beans is it not? Hence its a natural stimulant?
Or do they come in place after processing, or a chemical reaction with the milk added.?

Yes it does stimulate serotonin..which will enhance your mood..it stays the same even when milk is added..because the chemical is still there..

Interesting, but not everyone would feel the effects of serotonin, as i presume it would be pretty mild?
Guess its the same for oysters and stuff like that too.

Yea, you're right..it all depends on the person..sometimes the receptors aren't as active in some people

After doing the experiment on myself for the past 2 days,
It was at least 2 bars of 70% coco before meals, kind of got me scolded for taking that before meals; pretty bitter in my opinion.
But the result i got was, it was more of a stress and tension reliever rather than an aphrodisiac for me. :D
