So a while ago I cut my wrist pretty deep, and it was my first time ever cutting on my arms. I was fine hiding it until summer, then I realised I needed short sleeves. So what I did is I found a reasonable thick hairband, and just put it over my wrist. Nobody's ever questioned it and I've had it there for months, but I've had one worst case scenario where someone asked to see my wrists. Because the hairband was moderately tight (Not enough to cause damage) It doesn't slip but also had just left one of those temporary marks on your skin which looked exactly the same colour as the wrist cut, so it simply looked like I has just been wearing my hairband too tight. :)
I know it's not the best advice in the world and obviously it's not an idea for healing wounds but it's just a little something in case you guys needed a cover. Obviously the too-tight hairband excuse can only be used so many times but if you need a quick escape I though't I'd share in case this could be useful to some people. :)

Thanks for the great tip :D I usually cut below my elbow because that's easier to hide, usually on my right thigh but that makes it really hard to swim. But since i'm not sporty, it's not so bad :) I do hope we'll learn to stop relying on cutting to get through though. We'll get there one day

Great tip for some people:D For me I just wear long sleeve shirts and trousers all the time even though shorts would cover up my thighs.

Obviously it's best not to do it at all but if you need some quick cover or excuse, this works quite well. :) I rarely do my arms, and this was a one off but for those who do their arms and can't have bracelets for school or something, a simple hairband will suffice. :)

Thats a great idea for if you just have one!

But if your like me and have lots it isn't easy especially in summer. But what I found was good (when my scars were just on one arm at least) would be to buy a support bandage from a drug store/pharmacy and wear it over your wrist and up your forearm and claim you sprained your wrist. This can work for a few days but not permanently but it can at least give you some respite from wearing long sleeves every day in the intense heat!
