Not sure what i'm going to say is useful but as you say anything is better than nothing.
To be honest I know roughly what you are going through as the same thing happened to me just over a year ago. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life, felt so confused and a bit useless. I only stayed back in school, sixth form, to 'bury my head in the sand'. Eventually I found something to do and am now a fabrication and welding apprentice. I may not be this for the rest of life. Anyway what ever decision you make if you eventually find your not happy with that you can always quit and do something else.
Not much help just thought I should comment.
