Yes, some!

Draw from life: use a real-life model (yourself in a mirror, a friend, a brother/sister, etc). If you have none, use any photography. Try to copy what you see as best as you can, and keep proportions as close to the original as possible. Don't try to reproduce every single small detail, but try to spot what makes each model unique: a special shape of the nose, a piece of clothing, a way to twist hands...

Study anatomical proportions: You should always have a rough idea of the basic human figure proportions in memory. You'll find a lot about those on Internet. Learn to draw a rough stick figure that is accurate proportions-wise.

Study basic perspective: You should be able to properly represent spheres, cubes, pyramids and cylinders from all kinds of angles - the human figure can be decomposed in several simple shapes, so that's going to help a lot to be able to draw those.

Ask criticisms: Subscribe on a serious art-oriented community, and submit your work there for criticism. Don't fear or reject anything negative you may get about your art, as long as it is properly explained, and don't get discouraged - everybody makes lots of mistakes when drawing. Polykarbon (http://www.polykarbonbbs.com/) is an example of a good art community that can help you a lot if you want to make serious progresses.

And of course, the most important is practice. The more you draw, the better you get!

I always suggest doing quick drawings and gesture drawings. Get a friend to do 30 second poses for you, and then keep taking time off. That's how we got into drawing people at school. There's a website called posemaniacs or something like that that is very useful for it if you don't have a willing friend.
