Well the state of Florida is raising the standards on the FCAT's. Do other states have a test this hard. And if there are any floridians out there, would you care to share your deep hatred for the FCAT.

Texas has a test called the TAKS. Which I do believe they have changed to the STAR in the coming years but I'm not sure. These tests determine whether or not you go onto the next grade and whether or not you graduate. Grades 1-2 take little practice tests that don't matter. 3-10 take the real tests and each grade has a differing test, some take Math Reading Sience...etc, others take just two, blah blah. 11th grade takes an Exit Level Exam (TAKS) and that determines if we graduate or not. Seniors don't have to take it.
You HAVE TO PASS the TAKS. If you don't pass in the 11th grade year you can retake it, a repeated failure means no graduation.
