Would you say this guy is my friend?

He talks to me at football matches and on Facebook but sometimes he can appear distant with me when he's playing football on a Sunday. He will talk to other people and say bye to other people, but not me.

Sometimes I wonder whether he likes me as much as he used to because in the past I've not taken certain jokes well and have lost my temper. He's still friendly with me and wants to see a football match with me soon but it just seems awkward. Is it just me worrying over nothing? What do people think?

ps. he is a genuinely nice, fair minded guy as well

It's hard to judge obviously because we don't actually know either of you. If he's inviting you to go places with him and if he starts conversations with you, in person or via facebook, then I'd say he's at least being friendly with you. Suggesting he'd be your friend, possibly, it's hard to tell really.

a laugh is what a friend does there is a connection with a best freind that takes something serious to brake(i know about that) he is just being freindly i would not say best freind

Sometimes, I feel like I speak to him to much on Facebook chat and comment on his statuses too much. Sometimes he goes online and onto his phone because you can see his commenting on other people's statuses. Do you think he finds it annoying? Or doesn't he want to speak to me?

It is indeed, which is why he probably classes you as a friend. Just act as you do with your other friends and treat him as one of them.

I would say he's being friendly. If you've lost your temper before or whatever he may just be kind of wary or on his guard.
Main thing is just be yourself. Don't try to alter yourself based on what you think his expectations are because that's not fair to either of you. Friendship is based on people being who they are and accepting each other. If the differences are too great then you may not be friends in the sense that you hang out and chill all the time. You can still be friendly with each other though and hang out sometimes. Good luck :)
