Well, insomnia can be a side effect caused by a mental illness, such as depression. Do you suffer from depression, or do you have thoughts running rampant all the time when you try to sleep?
As for your second and third lines, it seems like your asking us... how to keep the insomnia going, which doesn't make any sense, since it contradicts the first sentence?

I don't know, I normally just drink caffeine to keep myself up. But the problem here is the staying on the computer too long. It keeps you awake, as much as you don't want to think it does. The light from the computer keeps you awake, and if you procrastinate it long enough, you're just gonna end up being awake for hours on end. It happens to me all the time. Try to keep an eye on the time, start logging off the computer around a certain time (try like 2 AM or something). Or even turn your lights off while you use your computer later at night. That usually helps me sort of "dry my eyes out" and get a lot more willing to fall asleep.

You have to tough it really. The best way I've found to re-adjust is to go to sleep, but set your alarm, wake up then, regardless of how much sleep you've had, and just tough it. If you go to sleep at seven in the morning and keep doing that, you'll never re-adjust. Learning the ability to pry yourself away from the computer is a valuable skill. Remember that there's nothing of this sort that you can't stop and pick up the next day. You don't have to have it take up the time when you are sleeping.
I have the same issue with staying up late, and you just have to discipline yourself, especially when you have responsibilities to be awake and alert in the morning.

Rith's right. Your best bet might just be to do one massive session where you just force yourself to stay awake over about 24 hours or so. This will allow you to readjust. Sounds awful but if you keep active and moving you'll find you have more energy than you might think.
