I was surprised that there wasn't already a thread about this. Music after all is more than just famous artists. You yourself can make beautiful music with only an instrument. What instruments do you play? How long have you played them? Have you ever performed on stage with your instrument?

I've played Clarinet since sixth grade and had several band recitals throughout junior high. I also played the Vibraphone in percussion last year. We never actually got to have a concert because of budget cuts, though.

Used to play the guitar and clarinet in middle school. But I've only touched them in a little less than a year. :/ Haven't touched either since. And no I haven't performed on stage with them.

I used to play the keyboard/piano, though it was all self-taught and I never learned how to read music on it. I did a few pieces in random talent shows and whatnot, but nothing real big. Then I played the violin for a couple of years. I actually got kinda good, but quit practicing after a whileXD

Now I play guitar. I used to be in my school's advanced guitar ensemble, and played in concerts several times. Now I'm trying to teach myself some new music, and hopefully get in some sort of group (whether that be a band, or another ensemble). I'm definitely trying to keep this instrument up though :)

I've played the piano since 4th Grade so thats...7 years and I've played the Guitar for 5 years :D I also played the clarinet in 6th grade but gave up...it was really freakin' easy :D

I've performed onstage at a guitar competition with my guitar (duh), doing acoustic covers of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" - Green Day, "Hey Jude" - The Beatles, and "Dominated Love Slave" - Green Day

I also performed "The Sound of Silence" - Simon and Garfunkel for my schools talent show, and "Good Riddance (Time of your Life)" - Green Day for a High School "American Idol"

Love guitar, love piano, love music in general. :D

Been playing electric guitar properly for just over a year (started in high school's music class and loved it :D).

I own an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, keyboard, tinwhistle.
I played tinwhistle all through primary school, but not anymore. I could still play a few tunes but I havent touched them in ages.
Ive been playing acoustic guitar for about 3 years, Im decent, and yeah Iv'e preformed in a few school concerts and the musical with it.
I dont really touch my electric, its a cheap one and it doesnt work very well.
Im learning the violin at the moment, teaching myself but its really hard :/
I hope to get better, get an electric and perform that for my music exam.

Singing 3 years (grade 7) well I play down the pub, im in the school chior .. and weve done numerous concerts all over bedfordshire
violin 3 years (grade 3) school orchestra and stupid fiddle time concerts... moved to viola three years ago (grade 5) play in school orchestra again :L and we do numerous concert throughout the school year.... :L lol

I play the guitar. Currently me and my friend play acoustic covers of songs, just for fun. People bash us for sucking at writing, not having good originals, playing bad songs, etc. But we still play what we want because really, we're doing it for fun. Our friends have a good time hearing us play. We've played small parties, and at this arcade place twice.

Really, I want to start a full band, instead of the acoustic thing I've got going. Then I feel like I could do more, write better parts, be more free.

I play the piano (9th year, grade 7 in the Royal Conservatory), I used to play the trumpet in concert band for one year (grade 7), and I now play the bassoon in grade 8 concert band. I started bassoon in grade 7 (just took lessons to get it this year!). I played on a stage for all those instruments.
