Ok so basically we have been doing some work on my home and we put an RJ45 cable in the wall connected to a socket (female). At the other end of the cable we need a male connector, however, there is a special tool needed to connect it to the cable. Anyway, the electrician told me to buy an ethernet cable and wire it in to the one in the wall. I bought it and stripped the plastic from both but the 8 colours are different, 3 are the same and the others aren't. I tried to do it but it doesn't work so I was wondering if anyone knew what goes with what. Thanks.
