Activision and EA are so evil. Activision produces A new COD every year, and what, just some more maps. $70 a year for almost the same game, no sir.
EA poops expansions out of Sim 3. Like $30 every few months and the want me to buy funiture for a vitual life. I'd like to buy something for my real life.
Money, Money, Money, and they dont care about you. Anybody else realize their just digging your wallets? Think hard, Think real hard. Do you really need a first person shooter. I fell the shooting people gets kinda boring after awhile. And do you really need a virtual life thats 10 times better than yours but while you waste time playing it you could be improving your life.
The point is think real hard about big games like these. It's like your tricking your mind into liking them then one day you like, whats the point of this.

The only thing I hate about EA is their outlandish DRM. It's a very exaggerated attempt to stamp out piracy. And even then, it has been cracked numerous times by pirates.

I agree with the thing about Activision. Since 2006 CoD uses the same engine, map packs are expensive and they simply repeat the scenario every year. It's like apple, we won't see anything good in iPhone 5 but people will buy it anyway. Activision has so much money right now because of this, they can buy the 1/3 of caming companies. But I don't take your side against EA.
You are talking about first person shooters? Well let me tell you something. The only good first person shooter today is Battlefield so you may want to think twice when talking about EA. EA is a "father" gaming company, they produced the best and most popular games. If you are pissed of because you buy a virtual furniture for 30 dollars, mod the game and make your own furniture.
And by your last sentence, it seems like you are against gaming.

I'm not against gaming but yes the cost for some of them is ridiculous. You buy a console $150 to $300 sometimes $400 then pay $60 to $70 per game. But, its America and you can spend your money how you want...
He makes some valid points about people needing the latest and greatest when really that "upgrade" hasn't really amounted to much for the overall game... it does make you wonder sometimes...
It wont stop me from playing them, but I do find I research more and I wait to see what others say prior to purchasing some...I am no longer "the first in line" to get them..

to be honest i have never cared about how much i spend on a game or its map packs hey its fun to play and if you dont like/want to spend money on the Add on stuff dont its not like you have to.
A tip also for buying COD games buy out of wal mart or asda on the day of release and you can save a lot of money.
Its up to you but i have never really cared so much on this subject of money in relation to video games. THINK! you dont HAVE to buy the ADD ON sutff just the payment for the game
The point is think real hard about big games like these. It's like your tricking your mind into liking them then one day you like, whats the point of this.
you dont have to buy

Personally I don't mind about the map pack and DLC's. If they decide to keep churning out the same content over and over I simply will refuse to purchase it. That or wait until it drops to a reasonable price.

Sims is funny because you can make a black girl have 40 kids and nobody calls her a slut.
Then you can lock them all in a room and set it on fire. :)

Well we don't usually call black women who have many girls sluts, it seems you have just shown your discriminative side...
And well throwing them into the pool and removing the ladder is much easier.

You can't entirely blame large developers/publishers for making stupid content and just ignore the legions and legions of people who are more than happy to pay for stupid content. There's no trickery involved, people just like shit.

Corporations don't exist to "care about you". They exist to make money, and the products they make are designed to make as much of a profit as possible. Games like the Sims and COD keep getting new expansion packs and sequels because they're a goldmine for the companies. If you hate them so much, just don't buy them.
If either of these companies turns out a quality game (which they have before (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SimCity_4)), I'll buy it. If they keep making shit, I won't. You can't blame them for "digging your wallets" when that's the reason they exist in the first place.

The only reason I buy every new Call of Duty is because its what everybody will be playing. All my friends will be playing Modern Warfare 3 when it comes out and I want to play with them, so I'll be buying it. The only Call of Duty I think is good is Call of Duty 4. I still play it ( but not its overrun with modders )

Nobody's forcing you to buy the game. If you don't like it, don't buy it, but there's no need to bitch about it.
Companies are out there to make a profit, and by buying the game, you give them profit.
Now if people massively stopped buying those games, they might be motivated to change it.
Compare it to Windows. It's full of crap, security holes, and that sort of stuff. People are constantly complaining about it. So they bitch to Microsoft. But Microsoft doesn't give a damn. Unless people stopped buying Windows, they'll just continue to make crap.
Microsoft also reuses the same things over and over again. For example, the program EDIT(C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM~1\EDIT.EXE) in Windows XP hasn't been updated since 1995.
Nobody stops buying Windows because of that, so Microsoft has no motivation to change.
Again, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that.

I can find many smaller developers that are more about the fun of gaming rather than money. Paradox seems to really be into gaming for the fun and not for the billions. eVerIm is also a small company making nice games.

It's almost a monopoly, nobody would stop buying Windows. Same with EA or Activision they just have to much power over the human brain.

Stop double ( triple ) posting man,
And as my friends said, they don't care about you. They care about money. If you like small Indie companies who make little profits, buy Minecraft or Amnesia.

Microsoft made a lot of changes to Windows after the Vista trainwreck. It was a response to poor sales and widespread criticism. It's not like Microsoft just ignores its customers, since they are the ones who fund the company in the first place.
But that's completely different from EA or Activision. They don't have "power over the human brain" or whatever you're talking about, they just make games that people like. What they do works. You can't blame them for how they've impacted peoples' lives, you can only blame the people who buy them for wasting their own time. Buying video games is a choice, and playing them all day is a choice. EA and Activision haven't done anything wrong.

EA was better in the 90's than they are now because let's take a look at a game of theirs. that some of you might play and be frustrated with about their service. So when they come out with a game, they allow online services for it, but let's say 6 months later they come out with a sequel, well in 2 months time, they shut down that online and they continue it for the sequel. I think that's really bogus because we pay big bucks for a game that we would like to play online yet, we don't get too long of a chance if there's open time for a sequel. So you're essentially fucking yourself out of $60. So I can see where he's coming from in that respect. Though in the past, they made and still sprinkle out a good game or two, but they were better back in the day.
Activision, I remember playing some good starwars games and then True Crime Streets of LA was pretty good when I first played it. But I think they've made quite a few good games, I can't contest to that.

All CoD look all the same to me lol.Just better graphics and slightly different story line each year.People don't care that much anymore,so would they worry?I say they aren't evil. You don't have to buy it.Supply and demand.I don't like how EA consumes other game companies though.I really only like a couple EA games.
