Can someone explain to me how college football is run,i understand NFL ,is there any similarities

Yea, there is acuatlly a lot of differences ..the game is Bassicly the same but players have lots of restrictions. For starters college players don't get paid..... well at least it's not allowed even though some teams choose to break this. and also a college player must maintain a above average gpa to participate in a game. Oh and a player may only play college football for up to 4 years. They may sit out 1 also known as redshirt or if they get injured.

But what about the league system and the "bowl" games etc

well bowl games are all about which conference the team is in.. and thier standing in thier conference.... Conf. all depend on fan base, T.V market, Team persitige... if the team can't meet expectations of the season they have a chance to be dropped from the Conf. If the exceed expectations other conf may be intrestead.. therefore, jumping to a better conference which in turn will bring the team more persitige and higher cailiber recruits.. the better the conference the tougher there scedule will be..
