I'll like to name a few australian cars that are only found in nz and australia here are a few: FPV,HSV,holden and the typical cars that i see every day: holden commodore (ute form, sedan), sportswagon and the ford falcon.

if you look up fpv/hsv and even holden/ford falcon or any of the above I'll like to see what you think of these "aussie" cars. you can look on google images that will give u the best pics of these cars.

Ford Falcon FPV is badass! I want an XR8 sooo bad. They looks nice and now they get the Coyote 5.0 V8. I'm jealous right now.

The Pontiac G8 is also a really good car, which is based from the Holden.

The commodore isn't. It's still made originally for the Aussie Market, the rest though are pretty much haha.
I like the new commercial with Alan Moffat trying to sprout the new supercharged FPV as an Aussie engine. It's not like it's the coyote out of the mustang or anything...
It's a shame Pontiac discontinued the G8 when they went broke, it was good to see some Aussie cars in the US!

^ I agree. While the Taurus SHO is a decent car, I think the Falcon would do quite well here in America. I love the fact it's a V8 and RWD. I drool everytime I watch this. I love the custom exhaust!

I'm sure the ecoboost could do well in the Falcon too, hopefully with Fords new, "One Ford" approach the Falcon will come stateside and the FWD/ AWD Taurus will die quickly. Not to mention if Ford wants Lincoln to succeed the have a RWD platform to build off of... seems like a no-brainer to me haha

oh and that exhaust... skeeeeet haha

And to mention that my mothers patent is Jack brabham (former race car driver, look him up) she new him for 6-7 years now. As we as a family friend is an old midget car racer that raced with "Jack" head to head.

I'm going to find YouTube video of a fpv gt custom supercharged it's in my FAVs

And what I hate about the falcon is it's main thing they "ford" built the falcon is for taxi companies (search taxis Australia in google pics and I bet their will be falcons popping up str8 away) not trying to piss people off. And another thing that I hate is taxi drivers piss me off so much coz they just don't give a flying **** about other uses on the road. But to put that aside ford Australia has done a lot for our economy.

And has anyone heard of a ute besides australia? If yes have a look at hsv maloo and fpv pursuit/super pursuit their both utes quick ute history "the ute is a sedan with a tray or tub at the back. You may call them "trucks" in the states or else where but in Australia we call them utes even a Toyota hilux" theirs a video on YouTube of top gear testing the vauxhall vrx8 but in Australia we call them hsv clubsport or gts and another on a review of the fpv f6-e that's a review from the US.

With the maloo we put superchargers in them with big 3inch exhausts

Dad had a Maloo recently before he sold it for his new car.
It was lowered with TIENS coil overs and had a FULL duel 3" X-Force system with stepped headers and 200 Cubic Inch barrel, SS free flowing cats and and edited PCM. We eventually installed a Harrop Supercharger with the 1000hp Harrop intake fuel system and a Garrett 6 speed auto transmission. That's getting technical, A.K.A, it had 470kw (630hp) at the wheels. He loved it! I am trying to get some pics on, but I have already put them up on another thread, and it's not letting me post them here. If you want to see, go to the sticky, 'What do you drive?'

The El Camino is the original Maloo pretty much, it was built in the 70's and was the inspiration for the Maloo and every half car-half truck hybrid lol

Maloo means thunder in aboriginal the first ute in Australia was in the early 60's they looked so awesome a builder next door to me had a 65 model hoden ute but now he has a mitsubihi triton with HID upgrades all round. If you like 4wding (suv-ing lolz) have look at http://www.4wdaction.com.au

I know I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I'd say the Ford Falcon is a totally different car than the Taurus. I'd say it's more of the Australian Mustang. It is much lighter then the Taurus and as such isn't getting the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost. Instead it's getting a four cylinder ecoboost. Finally the Falcon is due to be replaced by a larger car; most likely the Taurus in 2016.

I know its a much different car, but it could easily serve the same purpose, and i'm sure a Falcon police cruiser sounds much better than a Taurus Police cruiser, and the EcoBoost thing was just a suggestion :P The Taurus is a whale of a car, that looks bloated from every possible angle and imo isnt a very desirable car unless you run a fleet of some sort it was a good concept car but i don't think it translated to production very smoothly

No way I think we are not getting the Taurus in Australia for over 60 years the falcon was in Australia and hasn't changed much since and the Taurus is not designed for Australian environments like the falcon the falcon runs a 4L v6 normally and the v8 comes in a aspirated v8 or kyote v8 Australian made supercharger in the fpv range and falcons have been used on corrigated outback dirt roads as the kalgoorie WA cops use because most of the land is dirt roads and unpaved roads and the area the kalgoorie cops run on is the size of France with a hf radio and UHF and a sat phone :yeah:

So I think Australia is going to keep the cars a bit longer than you think as is aid in other posts ford isn't the only one that makes cars built in Australia and designed for for our conditions we got the Holden commodore since the early 60's and it's slightly changed same as the falcon but hsv has changed a lot since the made their first performance cars.

And if you sat in a ford falcon like me because Australian taxi companies use them their huge inside bigger than the commodores and can be run on LPG and petrol on one car same as Holden does

When I personally think of American cars it a gear stick behind the steering wheel, big shocks and v8s that use fuel that you can never get to the location you want (700km I really don't know miles coz Australia doesn't use it.)

Hahaha thats how it used to be :P The Falcon should fit in with Ford in the U.S atm, or at least as a Lincoln...

As far as aussie cars go you have to love the good old classic monaros. They are beautiful cars.

I drool every time I see a Falcon GT XR8 online. Too bad we can't get them here in America.

I do however like the new Chevy Caprice that's for law enforcement. It's based off the Holden Commodore platform. I had the oppertunity to drive one at a test track a few months ago ( no joke) and I really liked how it handled and the performance is really good. I like the fact it's still a V8 RWD car.
