Has anyone noticed that today's artist are starting to sell out and trying to fit into the techno/house scene. Chris Brown, Snoop dog, Beyonce, Britney spears etc?
How long do you think the electronic phase of music is going to last, it seems to growing more and more popular. And most music is slowly starting to evolve into techno- what do you think?

I don't know what you're talking about, but most music isn't turning into techno. Sure, mainstream is, but there's more music than that.

You and probably almost every person on this forum don't know this, but electronic music has been around since 1950's when György Ligeti made Continuum. It's not going anywhere whether you like it or not. Sure, the easy-to-make genre's like dubstep, house, and trance are big and they're trending. There's still a shit load of good electronic and techno out there and there always will be.
Of course this music will only trend more and more until people realize how easy it is to make shit like trance. In fact, I plan to prove it on an album I plan to work on in a few days.
I mean, Korn is now making dubstep with Skrillex. It doesn't get any fucking dumber than that. This will only grow until we have a remarkable artist from the underground somehow get the spotlight shined on them, but then again that might never happen. Maybe the mainstream is destined towards this path.
If it bothers you then stop listening to mainstream and dig more into music. I suggest sites like rateyourmusic, afterthepostrock, last.fm and discogs. Start reading cool magazines like The Wire (UK) or visit Sputnik from time to time. Even album reviews on Metacritic can help.

Does this count as techno :3?r838pJCS2o0
To be honest,I don't listen to techno,or at least I don't think I do.I listen to some music that may be considered techno by some of the mainstream, but I consider to be more of the synthetic sound music or some electric pop(La Roux). If that makes any sense.I have stopped listening to so much radio, but when it's on in the car I'll listen to some,it doesn't really sound like techno. All though I don't consider Shrillex and dubsteb type stuff real techno, nor other remixes.Just me.

Yes, because anyone who cares about music that isn't popular must be a hipster, which is pretty funny because the MAJORITY of music is underground and unknown. I really hope most of you people know that. That means you're calling all those musicians who live off scraps of shit hipsters.

And just because music IS mainstream doesn't make it bad. Have a good mix.

And just because music IS mainstream doesn't make it bad. Have a good mix.Who said that? There are quite a lot of mainstream music that's good. For example Portishead. They are too mainstream, but they are good nonetheless.
