View Full Version : Digestive Issues? (kinda gross)

This is a little embarrassing to post, but I'm a bit unsure about it right now...

For the past few years, I seem to have traces of blood in my stool every once in a while. It hasn't ever lasted for very long, and there wasn't much of it, so I let it go after a while. I told my dad about it a while back so he already knows.

But today... blood was basically 90% of my stool. Sorta like I was just having blood coming out, and it wasn't all solid. I know it doesn't have anything to do with "female issues", so that's not part of it.

I'm not sure if anyone really knows much about something like this, but I suppose any knowledge or advice would be appreciated. I've done a bit of research already, and have found that some cases like this are somewhat serious (but not all are), so I'm not sure about the seriousness of my issue.

Thanks for your time(:

This sounds pretty seriouse to me hun, its better to be safe rather than sorry. Go and see your doctor as soon as possible hun.

This sounds like an odd question, but what color was the blood? The color could help determine the source of the bleed and therefore the relative seriousness of it.

It was a bright red color, like it was fresh blood. I think that would mean that the source is nearer to the end of the digestive tract, though I don't know what that suggests in terms of seriousness.

If anything but feces comes out that's a warning sign. You'd be way better off seeing a doctor than posting this on here lol

You're right; bright red means the source is likely near the end. Based on what you're saying, it sounds to me like you may have some anal fissures (tears, basically.) Those are usually not that serious, and heal by themselves. But if, as you said, your movements are as large a percentage of blood as you say your most recent one was, I would say that an internet forum can really offer you no more help, and to go see a doctor.

A possible issue could be hemorrhoid (piles).
Perhaps it's best you see a physician, rather than doing research and scaring yourself with possible diagnosis from the net.

Wishing you the best in health and get well soon

Yeah, I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow morning to get it checked out. I called a doctor today as well, who advised which actions I should consider taking.

Thanks for the responses and well-wishes(:

I'm glad you are going to a doctor.

You most likely have a hemroid. If you feel (wash your hands first!) around the entrance of your anus you would be able to feel a very squishy, large feeling, bump around it. These are piles of veins pulled together to form a bump. It bleeds and it can be very unsettling to find. They can go away on their own but at the same time it's best to go see a doctor to help get rid of it!
