I cut today. Not badly or anything, just been a while (well for me anyway!)

it was a few hours ago and my wrist hurts now more than it did to actually cut them... is this weird?

They're only shallow, most of my cuts are. But they've kinda 'swollen' up underneath the cut. This usually happens for me, and it'll be fine by the morning, guess its just my body's initial way of coping with the damage..

It's curious that it hurts more now though.... anyone else had this?

Yea it happens to me too. Usually when it happens the cut is on my leg or stomache. however, it dosn't happen as much when the cut is on my shoulder. So, no I don't believe it's weird.

My guess is that it has something to do with the amount of nerves in the skin, or the chemicals that are released into the system while you cut (such as adrenaline) not being in your system anymore. Oh and also the swollen thing happens to me as well, especially with shallow cuts.

I think it is something to do with the skin on your wrists being very sensitive. So naturally the more sensitive the skin, the more you feel things. I for instance have slashed my wrists on a couple of occasions, and I kid you not, it felt like someone had inserted white hot pokers into my arms.

The pain was unberable, so I think what your experiencing is completely normal, and is nothing to worry about at the moment :)

I can't say that has happened to me before. The same thing happens to me with the swelling underneath the cut and it sometimes takes a couple of days to go away.
